but if we get past the 50 yard line our punter would just kicked the ball out of the end zone so what would be the purpose of punting.

Field position. For example, if we have 4th-and 8 on Buffalo's 45, even if we punt out of the end zone it gives us 20 yards of field position (Buffalo starting on their 25 instead of their 45).

oh hell just have Braxton complete a 15 yard pass and have them start their drive on the 30 yard line. No reason to do damage to our punter's net punting average:wink:

I thought the touchback only came out to the 25 on kickoffs and punts were still out to the 20. Maybe I missed that with all the rule changes lately.

You're all just trolling, right? It isn't possible that none of you have considered that Cameron (Cannon?) has a background that just might make him uniquely skilled at dropping a punt inside the 10? Is it?

Your statement might have merit if he played rugby or something like that.

I can't think of a game where the offense just kept moving that a punt never happened (without a team going for it on fourth)

I wonder if that really did happen if they won by just scoring field goals even if the other team scored a touchdown.

While I hope our coverage is so good he never has to make a touchdown saving tackle, I'd love to see him crush someone.

Where are the annual trolling/semi-trolling alums/fans of the non-conference foes that usually show up this time of year to extol the virtues of their potentially giant slaying upstart mid major team? I am missing the hilarity so far this year (and the guy at the Nats game doesn't count as that was second hand).:(
Usually they have a board somewhere where they extol the virtues of Player X who is someone like Ohio State has never seen before. The only one I remember even close to living up to the fan hype is Garrett Wolfe.

They're busy discussing how putting "State University of New York" on the uniforms for the Ohio State game is the key to receiving their well deserved invitation to join the Big Ten.
