Buckeyes vs. Rest of Ohio

OhioRaised

Newbie
Hey guys, I am new here so I wanted to introduce myself a bit. I attend a MAC school in Ohio, but have always followed the Buckeyes closely. I am probably a bigger fan of my school than Ohio State (that's my school), but I still follow State of course. I am not a hater.

Be it that it is the off season, and the only other thing to talk about Ohio State is Gordon Gee, I thought it would be appropriate to open a more general, football related, thread. And since I am kind of a small school guy, I thought an "Ohio State vs. Rest" would be a good place to start.

I read this article on OhSportsNow.com. It is about Ohio State and the Cincinnati Bearcats. Ohio State has paid Cincinnati to push back their date. Why do you think they are doing this? The author says they are afraid, but I don't believe that. I do however find it confusing that they won't play.

----yeah no---

I will say that it has not been long since you guys killed my school. A lot of schools kill my school in football though LOL. Do you think a MAC school (any, not just in Ohio) will beat Ohio State in the next 15 years? How about Cincinnati beating them?

I know that we are all a little biased here, but lets try to be as fair as we can

Thanks guys for the welcome. I can not wait to continue on this board.

And I misspelled the title. Hell of a start!

With Urban Meyer there, I don't see either happening.

I don't see any Ohio team ever beating tOSU. Not impossible by any stretch, just highly unlikely, imo.

I grew up a huge fan of tOSU. Buckeye by birth and choice. I never had a problem with smaller Ohio schools until the internet. Reading OU, Miami, and UC's message boards over the years really turned me off rooting for them in any way, and in bUCkeye state's case, now actively rooting against them.

All that being said, tOSU has nothing to gain by playing in-state schools. If the Bucks win, they were supposed to, if it's a closer game than Buckeye fans would've liked, it's jumped on by sports media claiming tOSU is overrated. If by some miracle the smaller school wins, it somehow proves tOSU has been overrated for a hundred years.

This all the way. Until bUCkeye state made it to the Orange Bowl I rooted for them. The internet and the Juggalo culture killed that. Fuck Faygo.

So this guy's first ever post at Buckeye Planet is to notify a bunch of Buckeye fans about some inflammatory blog post about OSU pushing back their date with Cincinnati. Well gee wiz, do you think he's just trying to drive traffic to his site? I haven't read the blog because I don't want to fall for this blatant troll. But my understanding is that UC asked OSU to move the 2012 game to open up a date for TCU, which at the time was supposed to be joining the Big East.

Kiel "didn't have the chest" to play for Les Miles at LSU and he was 2nd or 3rd string at Notre Dame after a lot of hype before he transferred. He's still a great prospect, but he's raw and will need another year or two to develop before he starts performing at a high level. He has 0 chance of upsetting the Buckeyes.
