@Buckeye.2, Before changing your browser or going to compatibility view, would you try going to your profile and choosing Settings > Preferences? Uncheck "Use the rich text editor to create and edit messages" and see if that does it. Thanks!@Clarity It is happening every time I visit a thread, even if I have already viewed it before. It is rather annoying, but in the scheme of things its not that a big of deal right now. I have noticed it does not happen on my phone, only on my work computer (Windows PC using IE8).

Yes, IE8 defaults to focus on that bar, overriding the "new posts" code. So either of those fixes should work for now, and I'll see if we can turn that off in the site code for older browsers.That did seem to fix the issue, but it also took away the toolbar for posting a reply. Oh well, I can do without that! Thanks @Deety
