BuckeyePlanet 2.0. 10 years later, we're being rebuilt from the ground up.

@Clarity It is happening every time I visit a thread, even if I have already viewed it before. It is rather annoying, but in the scheme of things its not that a big of deal right now. I have noticed it does not happen on my phone, only on my work computer (Windows PC using IE8).

Thanks again for all your hard work!
@Buckeye.2, Before changing your browser or going to compatibility view, would you try going to your profile and choosing Settings > Preferences? Uncheck "Use the rich text editor to create and edit messages" and see if that does it. Thanks!

That did seem to fix the issue, but it also took away the toolbar for posting a reply. Oh well, I can do without that! Thanks @Deety
Yes, IE8 defaults to focus on that bar, overriding the "new posts" code. So either of those fixes should work for now, and I'll see if we can turn that off in the site code for older browsers.

I belive that does it! It is now going to the first unread message and not the bottom of the page, without using Compatibility View. Thanks @Deety you're awesome!

Yep... that is my case. My work computer uses IE8

We have to tell many a client to go to Firefox or Chrome and leave IE behind for our SaaS. This seems difficult for many government clients as most of the IT folks don't like the fact that Chrome and Firefox auto update. We have one client, a Canadian eh, who constantly wants our software to work in IE 7....who boy....

Kudos Clarity and team for the site upgrade. Top Notch!!!!!

Yep... good ol government worker here. Heck, they just 'upgraded' our web browser to IE8. It might be another decade until I can upgrade to IE9

Compatibility view might be helpful while we see if there is a site-side fix for it.

Once again... working for the government sucks... like they want me to actually work instead of surfing the new and improved BP all day. So of course this compatibility view isn't available at all for me. So I guess I will suffer in silence or just eat up my cell phone battery and surf BP using my cell phone (which BTW, that side just kicks ass!)

FYI, If you go to "Compatibility View Settings" (under Page tab), you have to add this site to list. After I did that, it started working in compatibility View for me. Hope this helps!

But @Deety already found a fix that works too!
