Buckeye Autograph Sessions (all merged)

Signing at the Buckeye Corner went well. I got there around 11am and was fifth in line, when I left the line was all the way through the store and into the mall... 200-300 deep or so. The players were great. Malcolm persolilized a jersey to me and my wife. The pics they sold were only $5, but they were not the best of quality, but good shots of the players. Todd has a really good sig, and is a very nice guy. He chated with us for a little bit.

I wish i could say the same for the staff.....

The Buckeye corner staff was somewhat confused as to what was going on. I don't think they expected such a large crowd. First off, some woman manager was telling people in the begining you could only get one auto per time in line, not one per player, but one auto total! to get each player you had to be inline four times! This was very different from when I called the night before, and I was told three sigs per player, per time through the line. When it was all said and done, she was wrong and we were right. Three items a piece. They were also HARDCORE about no outside items, again a little different from what i was told last night on the phone. They told me that if I bought items that day, no one would say anything about me getting my jersey signed. This was wrong. You needed to have a receipt for EACH ITEM being signed. But, luck was on my side. I was talking to some of the people in the line and a woman overheard me saying i couldn't get my jersey signed because I didn't have a receipt. She then reached into her purse and pulled out about ten receipts. She searched utill she found one for a youth twill jersey (mine was adult twill) and handed it to me saying she didn't need it! IT WAS AWESOME!! So it ended up all working out for me.

All and all it went well, I just wish that everyone working would be on the same page, but I guess it is hard to coridnate something like that.

You get what you pay for and you should expect much of the same at other signings orchestrated just like this one.

was there as well and agree with the above. The staff had NO CLUE what was going on! I was told three different answers from 3 different people as far as the auto limits. In the end, it was all good, they signed what we had the players were GREAT! Malcom was a class act! Did an inscription on my Mini without problem and it looks great! Was originally going to put JL on the same mini tomorrow, but I think i'm going to stick with it the way it is, looks awesome!

Pics were ok...not great, but for $5, no complaints, as hb just stated, you get what you pay for.

Nice to meet bcarpenterfan, as it would happen I ended up right behind him in line. One of the best parts of these signings is the fan you meet!

I agree that the staff had no clue. I actually won't complain about the quality of the pics, not the best shots though, no real action shots or anything. All of the guys were AWESOME. I got a sweet pic of Malcolm with his hand around his neck as to say blah lol. He did the inscription for me, since I had to ask HAHAHHAHHA. Was awesome meeting miller time. I was the guy that you talked to when you first walked in fum4osu. IS ANYONE GOING TO BEANIE TOMORROW????

I was there as well showes up at 12:30 was 30 back inline got through quickly. There was not 300 people there I counted them out and when the line was the longest there was maybe 150-160 hard to count exact with people moving. It was a very well ran event just had to ask the right people. The counter people were new and were confused. I asked the manager and it was very easy. Very high quality photos and some unique shots. Loved the Boeckman under center and the Jenkins. The only shot I wasn't fond of was the Trappaso but for 5 bucks I was not going to complain. I normally print my own 8x10's through Sam's club for 1.42 a pop and 16x20's for 6 bucks, so anything over 5 bucks I feel like I'm being raped. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Yeah, but where are you going to get action photos to print without owning the copyright. Don't tell me you're one of those who turns the other way and will "steal" photos off the web for your own use?:( Same on those photogs for posting without HEAVY watermarks if that's the case.

Again, you get what you pay for and if you want crap you pay for it. If you want SOLID, HIGH QUALITY PHOTOS you deal with a reputable photographer. Simple as that. You don't accept the crap these promoters are pushing off on you. Don't settle for crap!

Being a photographer myself, I know when I post items that I do not want used again I provide a nice water mark on the image and protect it. If a item is online and has no water mark it is fair game to me. I do not accept crap from them. If they do not have anything I like I just won't take it. But for marginal players like Boeckman, Trappaso, and Pretorious it simply is not worth spending big money for a A plus shot. Sometime a B shot is good enough for those guys to save cash. If it is a item that will actually make my wall it has to be a A + shot. Your images are top notch. You have a great eye and I will purchase from you again as I have in the past. ( Actually very shortley) Just making some statements on how I feel here. Also I had to post my opinion on the photo's at the signing.

I fully understand, especially about the B list players. $5 is fair for those guys even at an A+ shot. Nice insight you shared.

Cleveland I-X Center Auto Show

The I-X center autoshow website lists the following:

Tuesday, March 3: Ohio State University (OSU) Buckeyes' Football Night
Meet James Laurinitis (LB) and Chris "Beanie" Wells (TB) from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

Does anyone have any more information on whether you can bring in outside items to be autographed, or whether photo ops will be possible?

Thanks.

The Laurinaitis/Boeckman line was huge approx: 500 people attended so it was a good turnout.
As for the Beanie Signing... We are still trying to get a final date... And add another player with him.
Preferable Malcolm Jenkins. I thought we would know yesterday and I said maybe today... and now maybe
more information will be available tomorrow. Its agravating!!
I will keep this board posted.
Thanks,
Bucky

At the Auto show it goes like this...1 auto per player there and no photos and usually no inscriptions but it is possible as long as you ask. Usually they will sign it for you but if they don't oh well. And yes you can bring in outside items but there are vendors selling very good photos. As well as mini's, footballs, jersey's, etc...Ohio State night at the show is usually crazy long lines so if you are going expect to get there very early or you will get shut out. Got there at noon last year for Troy Smith, Vernon gholston and Kirk Barton and waited a good hour or so into the signing to get mine. I believe the show usually opens around 11 am and there will be a line from that point on so like I said, get there early.
