I was not there, but the promoter from the Lima show went up last night and I talked to him today. He said the line was small. Said about a 1/2 hour wait. Doesn't sound like a good turn-out at all. He said he could get him for his next signing, but the prices would be the same, they are dictated by Troy's group. He went down the line and asked everyone there if they would pay those prices if he brought him there. The people at the front ALL were absolute "yes", but the further back he went the more no's he received. He estimated he woudl need to sell about 500 pieces to break even on it. I don't think the interest is high enough at those prices for him to pull the trigger on it.

Will be interesting to see if CBH holds more of these if the showing was that poor.

You should have told him to not bother.

Why would he ask the people in Cleveland if they'd pay that amount if he brought TS to Lima? If they wanted another autograph, why not just buy another last night? As for the people who said "no," considering he said he'd bring TS in for the same price, then why were they there last night?

???? Your right why would he ask the people in Cleveland.......but I never said he asked those in Cleveland....he asked the people at HIS signing in Lima this morning...... Archie was signing for him today. That is why I stated I talked the "promoter from the Lima show".

He is looking into if it's worth it to do another one with Smith. He has done one each of the last 3 Saturday's, Pittman, Ginn Jr, and Archie were his headliners.

How was the turn out for the Lima show?

It's actually $50k, and it would all come down to if I could make it back or not. Long term, the Lima promoter feels CBH will make out fine, but it will only be b/c of the re-sell of items they have him sign. But that takes sitting on the inventory and a large upfront investment without much high end potential for profit. The real value is in the advertisement value as long as you can not loose your ass in the deal.

The reality of the situation is Troy is much higher then we are accustomed to, but he is no higher then previous Heisman winners have been, and still are. Try to get Leinart's auto and see how much you pay. It is the same if not hgiher then troy and his inscriptions are about $40 ,not $20.

People are also complaining about Ginn's prices, Dwaye Jarrett is asking for about the same.

It's simply the market we are in and there is nothing going to change anytime soon. Big Time, Offensive, Skilled Position players are going to ask for top $$ coming out. And people pay it. These guys are all represented by Marketing companies that are driving the price of the industry up. As the prices rise, the industry only seems to get more popular.

These kids are going to cash in while they can, and the fans are passionate and are still going to pay. Until they stop paying, they will keep demanding the money. Troy can do 3 signings and make more money the A.J. Hawk could get for about 10 signings last year.

If you had $40-45k would you spend it on a signing with Troy for two hours?

I went to the Miami Valley Mall today to get Brandon Mitchell's autograph, and there wasn't even a line! I was the first one in line, and I had to say there were probally less than 100 people to get his autograph. The store had him sign the Sports Illustrated magazines with Krenzel on the cover the rest of the time. He said the line at Dayton wasn't big either. I feel that the reason there wasn't a crowd is because Springfield has many Michigan fans. Even Brandon and the guys working agreed. It was a dissapointing turn out.
