I always hate the free signings because it is so terrible. I don't mind paying 10 dollars for an autograph and an 8x10. To me that's worth it. When it's for free you have people who don't know what their doing and the players look at them like "Are you serious?" This Quinn Pitcock one coming up, I will get there 2 or 3 hours before and have somebody I know save a spot in line and we can just walk around the mall and take turns in the spot. I do remember at the Brandon Schnitker and the Ryan Hamby autograph signing they gave tickets out. if your number is between 100 and 400 you go first. That is a good way to do it, but there were a bunch of idiots who thought if you had 1000 it was okay to go. Hopefully these signings go smooth though.

HAYN -- any idea why there hasn't been any information on Troy doing a signing yet? It seems like everyone else in this year's class has done or is scheduled to do at least one, even Ginn whose appearances are apparently being limited.

From what I've heard he wants too much money. $35/per signature to the promoters which only makes the price hike shift to the customers in the range of $50! $25 is PLENTY for a TS autogrpahed 8x10 IMO in which case the customer would be paying about $35 or so.

HAYN--thanks for the response. While I TOTALLY agree that $25 is enough for a TS autographed 8x10, I remember Cardboard Heroes charging prices similar to those TS apparently wants for Eddie George's autograph a couple years ago. If I remember correctly, they charged $39 for a flat item (e.g., an 8x10), $69 for footballs and mini-helmets, and $99 for helmets and jerseys. In short, I'm not saying that I agree AT ALL with these ridiculous prices, but I'm just saying maybe that's why TS's agent thinks he can hold out for more cash.

I went to the autograph session osu had before the night practice. That was horrible, lines were going into other lines. The lines for Ginn and Pittman were so long.

These guys are hands down some of the worst promoters I have ever seen doing shows. I went to their show with Ted Ginn Jr. this past weekend and these guys have to be rookies at this. I was planning on paying with a credit card and when I got there l found out they only took cash. I asked to pay with a check but couldn't. (This was strange considering that my fiancee paid with a check.) Secondly HAYN you need to call these guys and offer your services. I have never seen worse photos. It wasnt so much that they were bad as it was that the finish was blurry and metallic. They could defintely use some of your pics. After the whole cash only and bad photos I changed the amount of autographs I was buying. I pray that the shows in Northeast Ohio are not all put on by these guys.

Well, make your voice heard at the next show and tell them you want better pictures or better quality paper that is. What kind of paper did they use? Was it photo paper or that cheap cardboard finish? I WILL NOT put my work on cheap cardboard finishes. NO WAY! Metallic finish is done by Kodak and I heard it is AWESOME! Haven't had anything printed in metallic yet. IF this was true Metallic finishing it would've be more expensive and on Kodak Metallic paper. I doubt they used this!

I just got a photo from HAYN and it is very good. They are really good for autograph signings too! If you don't want to get a bad picture, buy from HAYN. Seriously guys that is the best right there. Before you go to autograph signings order HAYN's photos for them. They are so much better then what is being sold at the signings. Plus the photos get here real quick too! And they are cheap! What's to lose?

It's my experience that it's pretty common for promoters to only accept cash. Most of the time, they're just in the middle of the mall for one day running the signing, and they don't have credit card readers. Of course, if the signing is being held at an actual store at the mall (e.g., Cardboard Heroes), most likely you can pay with a credit card.

A few questions:

- How long was the line?
- Did they allow pictures to be taken?

I've actually seen the opposite. I've been going to shows for years and have yet to find a promoter that only accepts cash. I understand why they may think it's beneficial (tax purposes, cost of a credit card reader and transaction fees). However, they automatically just cut their customer base. Not to mention with Ginn going for $35.00 a piece and many people wanting to have multiple items signed, accepting cash only may force your customers to limit the amount of autographs they are purchasing.

As far as the line, it was very short. Perhaps due to them only accepting cash, perhaps due to the results of the National Championship game, perhaps due to lack of promotion. You could have got there at 4pm when the three players stared signing and made it through the line in about 45 minutes or so.

They did allow pictures to be taken. One lady even took it as far as having her three little kids each get there picture taken with all three players individually. Ginn didn't seem happy with any of the pictures. He seemed more annoyed then anything. I can totally see him not doing a lot of public signings like HAYN said. My fiancee and I both agreed that by far the two best signings we have been to were put on by the OSU Store.

If I can avoid going to another show that these promoters put on I definitely will. I'm not sure about the paper. To be honest once I took a look at the quality and the finish I decided I would not be purchasing any photos from them. Ill be honest HAYN you've spoiled a lot of us here and if it doesn't come close to looking as good as your work then I don't want it.

You're absolutely right about them cutting their customer base drastically by not accepting credit cards. People are likely to buy more if they can use their credit card(s).

I agree about your comments regarding the OSUStore...that's why I like doing business with them. You see a MAJORITY of my photos at their signings. Look for the first big one to be the second week of Feb in Cbus. Stay Tuned.

Actually, that line seems pretty long for an autograph that you have to pay for. I've rarely had to wait over 45 minutes for an autograph that I've paid for. Of course, if it's free, then anything goes, and you can end up waiting for hours. I agree with your comments regarding the OSU Store--they run a pretty good show. As does Cardboard Heroes. It's those random mall promoters that usually run the crummy shows, so unfortunately I'm not surprised to hear that you had a bad experience. Better luck next time.
