Brutus Buckeye (Official Thread)

I just voted about 10 times, and noticed that Brutus and Aubie were within a percentage point of each other in the momentum meter, and Brutus was still about 24 percent ahead of him overall.

Aubie may be gaining in percentage points, but we are leading in overall votes, if that makes sense. We have won the momentum the last couple weeks, that's all that matters now

Its funny how they are using a cheating script and we are still beating them. Thats if the stupid thing even workes I downloaded it and looked at it but Im not at home to have a good look at it.

Anyways I emailed:
[email protected] & [email protected]
This messege:

Just wanted to let you know that their is a cheating mascot. Here is the web page I found this info on. www.aunation.net/forums/i...c=18&st=75 It is a cheating script that will allow more than 1 vote per day. Something should be done about this, Its a shame what people will do anymore. I have also attached the cheating aubie.exe script. Thanks for your time.

So if you feel the need also email them yourself. It may get their attention.

An SEC team cheating?!? Say it isn't so!

Well that would explain a lot. BTW, your AU Nation link isn't working for me. I guess the page is now gone. Wow, I wonder if they took it down after being caught. Also, how did you find out about the "illegal" script? Good work BuckeyeFan4Life.

From Clevebucks: I actually talked to one of the Capitol One ladies last night via e-mail. She said the voting script is setup so that duplicate votes, while they appear to be counted, get discarded on the back end. Most likely they are using a combination of cookies and also your IP address.

Basically the reason why the Auburn mascot isn't moving up, despite their fans supposedly voting a couple thousand times an hour, is that only one is getting counted per day. Don't tell them though, let em waste the effort of spreading it to work computers, libraries, whatever else.

The reason why Brutus still maintains such a large lead is that one, a lot of OSU fans see the link everyday and vote, and two, the scoreboard makes an announcement once every home game. Plus there's a link off the official OSU athletic site.

Bottom line, no need to e-mail them. There isn't any fraud going on. They will never catch up at this point.

Well, that means I can cast three votes a day and have them count (my home PC and my two workstations on different subnets at work). Plus, I can borrow co-workers workstations also.

Still, I find it hard to believe that they are tracking the tens of thousands, if not more, different IPs of voters, plus the fact that the majority of America is still on dial-up which doesn't work with IPs (at least not with the user's computer). So, what I did was made a pseudo-copy of the main voting web page (minus the garbage JavaScript and the graphics...very trimmed down so it loads very fast), with instructions on how to block CapitolOne website cookies, that allows users to click the submit button (Brutus Buckeye is automatically selected by default), and then simply back-button to it after the vote is tallied so you can immediately vote again (without having to wait for the voting page to reload and having to re-delete the cookies). I was able to manually blast off 100 votes in under 3 minutes on a network. I'm going to load it onto my web site as soon as Road Runner gets their heads out of their collective asses and gets their FTP server fixed. Once I get it loaded, I'll pass on the URL to everyone here...

(edit for minor dumbass grammatical errors)
