I don't think he has it out for Tressel/OSU football at all. He's nowhere near the likes of Mark May, who never has anything good to say about OSU and who picks OSU to lose just about every single time he has the chance. To me, Hooley doesn't have an anti-OSU bias or agenda, yet he's not afraid to put his opinion out there when he doesn't agree with something about the OSU program. Just because he doesn't blindly agree with every decision that's ever been made about OSU sports doesn't mean that he "has it out for Tressel/OSU football."

the usual comeback. like I said to each their own but this is NOT the reason I/alot of people believe he is anti osu football.

hooley used to be up in cleveland. he was an open advocate of glen mason getting the job when cooper was canned. he hated the JT hire from the start. so, he dug his heels in and has an unusual disdain for JT and OSU football ever since. when osu won the title in 2002 it only made him more entrenched.

if you ever listened to his show, thad matta could rape a nun and burn live puppies on Lane Ave and Hooley would be there cheering him on, but JT could rescue 5 babies from a burning building and Hooley would make a smarmy comment about how his offensive players aren't that fast.

Hooley is a first rate loser, always has been, and always will be.

The articles written by him that have been picked up by FSN and ESPN don't qualify him as a journalist? Maybe that would make him a columnist, technically? (Insert ESPN joke here, by the way.)

There's a difference between supporting Hooley and believing he's not the Buckeye basher that a lot of people posting in this thread are trying to make him out to be. Look, I don't really care if anyone here likes him or not, and there's plenty of things he says that I disagree with, but the hyperbole in this thread is ridiculous.

This is my problem with him too. He basically admits to being a fan of the basketball program but seems to have an axe to grind with the football program. Maybe he is just being objective when analyzing OSU football but his completely opposite manner of analyzing OSU basketball leads me to believe differently.

I like Hooley. Doesn't mean I agree with everything he says. But the guy really is a Buckeye fan.

The kind of BS one reads on most Buckeye message boards (thank God for BP!) makes anything Hooley might ever say seem very tame. He throws a lot of outrageous comments out there just to stir the pot and get people to call in. That's what people with his job do. At least he's able to complete a grammatically correct sentence occasionally, something Torgerson has never done in his life. It's a good thing "the Torg" never had to take the Ohio school proficiency exams; he'd still be studying for the 4th grade one.
