Browns fans- Who do you want to draft?

If Carp isn't an option in the 2nd Whitner would be a good choice. He has all the tools to be a great playmaking safety and is from Cleveland so the Browns fans would love him. I will be upset if the Browns don't have at least 3 new Buckeyes in Training camp this summer.

I don't think the Browns will take a safety in the second round for the third year in a row. I haven't given up on Brodney Pool and Sean Jones. This was basically the rookie year for both of them.

Come to think of it, I would love to get Greenway. True, he's no A.J. Hawk, but we're not going to get Hawk unless we trade.

Being a Buckeye is one thing, but if I can accept Braylon Edwards on the Browns, I sure as hell can accept Greenway.

Besides, I drafted him into my Madden franchise back in September.:biggrin2:

I dont see why everyone is so high on chad greenway. I dont think that he will be that effective in an nfl scheme. If i were the gm I would take either defensive line or offensive line. If d'angelo williams were there i would consider him to.

Drafting a RB when there are much more pressing needs and we already have Droughns would be completely foolish. What makes you think Greenway wouldn't be effective in an NFL scheme (other than him being a Hawkeye)? Granted I didn't see everygame they played, but what I did see made me think he had very good potential as an OLB in a 3-4 scheme. He's a big physical LB, with speed and a mean streak. I'd be more than happy if we ended up with him.

I believe that Greenway would be a good pick, but you don't pass on someone like DW when your depth chart at running back is one deep. Suggs will probably never play a full season, and Green is worthless come game time. D' Angelo Williams has all the tools to be an LT type back. It would be foolish not to take him, if he's availabe, and you're already down to the 5th or 6th best defensive player in the draft.

still getting over us not taking LT the year we drafted Warren. GERARD F'N WARREN.

anyway, if we don't sign Maake Kemoutau or Grady Jackson to sure up our NT situation, I would love us to draft Haloti Ngata or maybe a LB in the first and a second round choice of Gabe Watson/Jesse Tahalona (DT from Tennessee). FTW, if Donte Whitner would slide down far enough, we should take him. He will be big-time in the pros.

My first choice is Ngata, but I just don't see him still on the board at #12.

As for DW, I'm not sure if I'd take him over LenDale White. Yes, the Browns need help at RB, but the Browns need help everywhere. The need on defense, especially the front seven, is more desperate than the need at RB.

Which is why you don't necessarily try to meet that need with an unproven player via a draft pick. Trying to fill a hole with an unknown factor is a very dangerous way to draft. As for LenDale over DW, I can't agree with you there either. DW is a versatile back that was able to run a couple of miles on an otherwise bad team, when people knew that he was getting the ball. LenDale was behind a stellar offensive line, with one of the best QB's, WR's, and RB's in the country that other people had to key on. I'm not sure if LenDale won't become another Ron Dayne type, or if he could be more along the lines of Jamal Lewis. I just see a lot of the "big back" types not being successful, due their inability to run over the 260 lb linebackers that they'll be facing in the NFL. DW on the other hand has all of the tools that you look for a in a running back, unless you want height, which I don't think is all that important.
