Josh McDaniels may know football, but he lacks the maturity to be a head coach in the NFL. The same can be said of Cutler at QB. The two of them remind me of a couple of 8 year olds knocking over each other's castles in the sandbox.

The Broncos have gone backwards and McDaniels hasn't even coached a game yet. Bears fans are excited now, but if Cutler doesn't grow up he'll let them down, too.

The best thing about this soap opera is that it's over. The entire thing was stupid and unnecessary.
The Broncos went backwards the moment they fired Shanahan. It wasn't his fault they neglected the defense for years. It wasn't his fault the RBs couldn't stay healthy the past two years. It wasn't his fault the couple of seasons (post-Elway) they fielded a decent team, he was stuck with Jake Plummer as his QB (well, maybe that one was). I don't get the fascination with the Bill Belichik coaching tree. What have any of them done? Romeo? Flamed out in Cleveland. Fat Charlie? Currently flaming out in South Bend. Isn't it funny how the Pats go on without losing a step when these guys leave? McDaniel may be a bright offensive mind, but he needs to pay his dues.

As for Cutler, like has been said many times...be careful what you wish for. Now he goes to Chicago to play behind an old offensive line and throw to second rate recievers. Their defense is getting old too, so they won't be able to carry them like they did in '05 and '06. On top of that, they've seriously handicapped themselves in the next two drafts. Liek numbers has pointed out, he's gone from slinging it to Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal to a kick returner and some guy whose name I can't even remember. He'll still get his numbers because he's a damn good QB, but his supporting cast is much weaker now.

Both franchises kicked themselves in the shin. The Donkeys may have set themselves up better for the future, but there's gonna be bigger growing pains now, and in todays NFL, msot coaches don't get a whole lot of time to win.

Looks like Brandon Marshall is on his way out.

Since McD has arrived, Denver's future has gone right down the drain. They went from having what looked like could've been the best offense in the NFL in a couple years with Brandon Marshall and Jay Cutler, to Kyle Orton, Eddie Royal and a bunch of pissed off and confused fans. Eddie Royal is good, but he's by himself now..

Yup.

What's weird about this situation is that everyone figured McD could come in and make Cutler/Marshall the next Brady/Moss (maybe not that prolific :p). Pretty much backfired as badly as possible with that idea in mind.

Brandon Marshall hasn't left yet, and if they trade him under his current contract status they have truly lost their minds.

EDIT: I see they have in fact agreed to trade him. Josh McDaniels, great hire Denver. :roll2:

Fuck Denver. I hope all their sports teams continue to (or start in the case of the Nuggets) suck.

Sincerely a Browns and Red Wings fan :biggrin:

Yeah...I'm sure Browns fans have no sympathy for the Broncos. :lol:

Broncos first preseason game. They lose 17-16. Orton looked bad.

Kyle Orton

Comp/At = 9/16
Comp % = 56.3%
Yards = 86
TD/Int = 0/3
Rating = 32.6

Chris Simms

Comp/At = 11/17
Comp % = 64.7%
Yards = 142
TD/Int = 2/0
Rating = 130.02

Side note WR Brandon Marshall was found not guilty of misdemeanor battery

It's not Denver traded for a guy on potential... Orton has been kicked to the curb a couple times, but brought back when his replacement was even worse.

Sweet, sweet justice for McDaniels. At what point do people stop hiring Hoodie's assistants?

Not only did Orton throw three picks, he threw three terrible picks. They were terrible decisions. McDaniels has to be a little concerned that he traded a star for this. Cutler might have thrown three picks in this game as well, but he also would've thrown for about 300 yards and 3 TDs.

Moreno looked really good before his injury.

I would comment on the Niners, since I like them, but ESPN decided they didn't matter and didn't show any highlights of them (other than the picks).
