God, I love Tiger Woods, and it amazes me that someone could regain focus so quickly, after dealing with such a great loss. Seeing him in tears at the conclusion of the tournament, was a pretty touching thing, and I can't be more happy that he won the tournament.

Same goes for Chris DiMarco, whose mother died unexpectedly about 2 1/2 weeks ago. Not enough can be said for his intestinal fortitude, either.

Other thoughts:

Sergio got a great idea today of the vast gulf, mentally, between him and Tiger. Total discipline/focus vs. inconsistency/immaturity.

DiMarco had BETTER be on that Ryder Cup team!

Tiger won the tournament by playing his second shots from farther back than probably anybody in the field - disproving those who think he only wins because he "overpowers" a course. He surgically dissected that course today - it was a brilliant round of golf.

If Ernie Els could have hit his sand wedges within 20 feet of the hole this week, he might have won. I've never seen a tour pro miss that many greens with wedges. His distance control with them was really off.

One of the marks of a great golf course is the leaderboard it procuces - this was a true links style test and produced a great leaderboard - just like Winged Foot did, and like Augusta alwasy does. Medinah #3 will be set up almost just like a US Open next month - look for Furyk and DiMarco to be in contention again.

If he had putted just "average" he would have won by over 7 strokes.....

Tiger's style of play on the course mandated that he have many, many 40+ foot putts, you dont hole those very often.
If he had chosen to play the course like the rest of the field, he probably would have putted "average," but would have assuredly lost strokes elsewhere (bunkers, rough, etc.).

He was dominant though

Tiger once again shows why he's the best professional athlete in all of sports, what a great showing this week.

Uh, no. He may be the most dominant "player" in his particular sport, but no way is he the best "athlete". When Tiger can swim a half mile, bike 25 miles, and run six miles non-stop with no breaks in between (like I did today in the Honolulu Tinman triathlon), then we can talk about him being an "athlete"...

Chris DiMarco has jumped from 21st, up to sixth place. Tiger is in first place with a commanding lead. Who would have thunk it!

No offense Mili but I am sure he can do the same, and more than likely he can do it a lot faster :)

Yeah that shit was out of control. On ever tee and green he had to readdress the ball. hopefully they will do something about that next year.
I wish they would stop too. People should stop taking pictures, writing articles, doing news stories, and covering him altogether. Then I wouldn't have to put up with his pussy whining about a fucking camera fluttering while he makes millions of dollars to chase a little white ball.

Watch out for tiger for the rest of season. He played outstanding this whole tourny. On unrelated note, Tiger's wife and sister in law alomst look liked identical twins. HOT! :yow1:

they are identical twins. HOT!

DiMarco just sewed up his spot on the Ryder Cup team. One thing I think worth mentioning is the fact that DiMarco seems to be the only one with the balls to challenge Tiger when he is on his game. He stood up to him and played some awesome golf (quite like he did in the Masters two years ago). The same can not be said about Ernie or Goosen. As far as Sergio is concerned he was doomed the minute he stepped out of his hotel room wearing all that yellow. Great job by Tiger though, he played unbelievably. I can't wait to see him here in chicago at the PGA

Great win by Tiger. The banana man, er I mean Sergia Garcia is a joke. He fails to play when it matters most. Nice job by DiMarco to get his game going again. Hopefully he can continue to play well for the remainder of the year.
