Purple rage may not work, but stern taskmaster seems to. Thinking Forrest Gregg, Bill Belichek, Hank Stram, and of course Lombardi. I think the difference may lie in the fact that the four mentioned never blamed defeat on their players whereas Kelly never blames himself.

Yeah, there's a line somewhere between stern taskmaster and rageoholic. Also, most GMs can probably see the trainwreck of having a coach go out every Monday and put all the blame for a loss on highly paid NFL players versus college kids who have to sit and take it.

I don't think Body Kount could make it halfway through a season before completely losing his team.
