Yep.

@NWARobbie

Wow. Great to know. Thanks for giving your full time and effort into the team Bret. Unfuckingreal.

Hope he likes it in Arky - he's going to have trust issues throughout the midwest if he ever has to leave.

The problem with this was that said coach shouldn't have had to do that

Why is that a problem? The program was successful and football isn't the Be-all and End-all at Ohio State.

We were successful yes, but it is well documented that there were assistants that um..failed to live up to expectations. We also turned over the quarterback coaching job to a kid with little to no experience during Tressel's tenure. If some of these staffing decisions were made because the budget was limited then that is unacceptable with the type of money the program brings in. (Something Gene Smith finally realized when giving Meyer a blank checkbook)

If we can afford to have a rifle and pistol team we can afford to pay assistant coaches, point blank period

Umm check again, Meyer has to live within a budget. Everyone does.

They are paid. And please don't go down the Ped State route by complaining about having other squads within the athletic department detracting from the football team thank you very much.

Gene Smith's job isn't to coddle just the football or basketball teams, he has an entire department to budget and maintain (edit) "point blank period" :roll1:

Salaries have jumped pretty significantly. Obviously "Blank check" is a bit of hyperbole but he was given the budget necessary to hire a staff on par with any college coaching staff in the country and the immediate results on the field speak for themselves

I laugh uncontrollably everytime I think about this

Saw the Wiscy Chris Pederson rumors as well....If they pulled that off they win
Saw that too but would be shocked honestly. He's turned down several other, much better offers.

I think realistically they should set their sights on Chryst, Mel Tucker, Willie Taggart, or Al Golden.

Those are all solid...I just hope the B1G learns and starts spending some of this wealth that the league has and starts paying coaches
