His family? [Gets popcorn] RT @ESPN_BigTen Bielema says wasn't a knee-jerk decision to let Markuson go. Said Markuson's family played role.
Because Bart told him he might be able to move them up to Wisconsin in a couple more months, if he was still employed by the university.Bucky32;2211088; said:Bielema explained it a little more at his presser. Markuson has two kids and a wife that are back home in Mississippi; the distance was apparently hard on him.
Which raises the question: why take the job in the first place?

MADISON: UW Fires The Offensive Line Coach - Reason Uncovered
By Peter Succomb
In a weird series of events, the true reason behind the firing of Mike Markuson was revealed by the AD department. The reason is identity theft. That's right, as difficult as it is to believe, identity theft was uncovered and there was no other option but to terminate the employment contract of Coach Markuson. According to unnamed sources here is what transpired that necessitated the firing of Markuson.
A call came in from Coldfoot, Alaska claiming to be the 'real' Mike Markuson. At first the caller was thought to be a prank, however the caller purporting to be Murkuson was insistent that he was being impersonated. The ABI (Alaska Bureau of Investigation) was contacted and his identity was verified. It was at this point that the AD, Barry Alvarez, went to the person he thought was Murkuson and confronted him with this new found information. what was revealed was startling.
The man had come under attack of late for his unimaginative line play and the inept and hapless performance from stellar athletes. Others in the AD had noticed weird behavior in the past weeks and at times seemed lost on even the most basic of offensive schemes. What seemed truly bizarre was this man's constant mumbling of the phrase, "Dave, Dave, Dave, punt."
What this man confessed was disturbing. He admitted his name was NOT Mike Murkuson, but was in fact a person named Jim Bollman. Yes, the same Jim bollman formerly of The Oho State University. At present Jim Bollman is enroute to a secure location.
