Bret Bielema (HC Illinois)

Mike Markuson is out as the University of Wisconsin football team's offensive line coach just two games into his tenure with the Badgers, the Wisconsin State Journal has learned.
The move was first reported by BadgerBlitz.com, a Rivals website, and a source with contacts inside the program confirmed the development.
BadgerBlitz reported that Bart Miller will be promoted from offensive quality control assistant to replace Markuson, who spent the last 14 seasons in the SEC under coach Houston Nutt, first at Arkansas and then at Mississippi.
The Badgers have struggled in the running game, despite the presence of a Heisman Trophy finalist running back in Montee Ball, two-year starters in Ricky Wagner at left tackle and Travis Frederick at center and two others -- Ryan Groy and Rob Havenstein -- who entered the season with starting experience.
Wisconsin was limited to 35 net rushing yards in Saturday's 10-7 loss to Oregon State, although three sacks for 41 yards contributed to that total.

Not sure I agree with firing coaches mid-season, but something had to be done.

So this was a move that had to be done and not Bielema throwing someone under the bus because he is a giant douche?

Eventually he is going to run out of assistant coaches to replace just like he is going to run out of transferring ACC QBs and then you will be left with just your fat douchebag of a coach. You must be excited.

I sure hope no $EC $EC $EC fans see that post. They might get a bit excited if you know what I mean.

Or, maybe he'll just find a way to blame Urban's recruiting for their problems?

I guess I interpret that as Markuson had personal issues with his family (illness, death, contagious douchebaggery?). Whatever, I'm sure all will be smooth sailing for Wisky now.

That would usually only make sense if he had resigned rather than being fired.

...But here it makes perfect sense. "Your mom's cancer is fucking up my season. Pack your things." That's the kind of next-level dick move I'd expect from Bielema.
