Which Buckeye will have a Breakout Season in 2007?

Let's get the discussion started, and maybe later one of the admins will set this up as a vBet.

For the purposes of this discussion, a Breakout Buckeye will be defined as:

Level I Breakout: Unexpected All-American
  • A player who is not a concensus pre-season All-Big10 first team pick, but finishes the season as a First or Second String All-American.
    • Players not eligible (are concensus pre-season All-Big10)
      • James Laurinaitis
      • Malcolm Jenkins
      • Vernon Gholston
Level II Breakout: Unexpected All-Conference

  • A player who is not at least a 2nd string All-Big10 pick on at least one Conference Preview (links available HERE), but finishes the season as a concensus All-Big10 pick.
    • Players not eligible
      • all of the above, plus...
      • Alex Boone
      • Kirk Barton
      • Steve Rehring
      • Chris Wells
      • Marcus Freeman
      • A.J. Trapasso
Any player who meets one of the above criteria will be considered a breakout player for the purposes of the vBet. You may place bets on as many as you like.

This post may be edited to modify the "Players not eligible" lists based on your input.

My Opinion:
  • Larry Grant -- I think he'll absolutely terrorize opposing QB's this year (and a few RB's too).
  • Brian Robiskie -- He's going to make some good DB's look very bad.

Ben Person:
...He's got experience
...He's got the talent (i.e. highly recruited & now finally starting after being behind some NFL caliber linemen)
...He'll be run blocking for a STUD running back, so people will take notice

Kurt Coleman:
...Headhunter SS with cornerback type quickness and ballhawking skills
(I could see him top five in tackles and top two in int's on tOSU this year)

Bet for as many players as you like. Bear in mind that what you wager will not be available for other vBets until after the season.

Boone, Barton, Rehring, Wells, Freeman and Trapasso will only be considered "Breakouts" if they are All-Americans. Their odds reflect this fact.

As most post-season lists will not include a fullback, Dionte Johnson need not be a concensus All Big 10 player to be considered a "Breakout". His odds reflect this exception.
