Breaking Bad / Better Call Saul

Well, as usual, I am always late to the party. I just finished watching Breaking Bad. Binge watched on Netflix. The best TV drama I've ever watched had always been the Sopranos. I will also believe the single best season of any show anywhere will alway be season 1 of Homeland. With that said what I just watched is one of the best written shows from beginning to end I've ever seen. It made no excuses and was not afraid to go the path it needed to go to tell the story. Can't wait to watch better call Saul.

As and aside: when I heard the guy who wrote the next to last episode (Hank's death/walts flight) has written and will direct Star Wars episode VIII I got a chub.

I watched the first season when it aired but instead of waiting for it to appear on Netflix to watch again before the start of season 2, I found that the local library has season 1 on dvd already. It's amazing what they have.
Yep. My local library had damn near every season of every awesome tv show. It was nice when we got rid of cable while we were living off of one income while the baby mamma was pursuing a bachelor's. Watching The Wire in its entirety for free made a tough time bearable.

Watching The Wire makes all times bearable. That is a show which I shelled out the cash for to own all 5 seasons. Every so often, I start the series over and go through it all again. I've probably watched it in it's entirety between 5 and 10 times.

Yeah my ol' lady bought me the first four seasons of The Wire with her tax return a few years ago. Couldn't find season 5, so she got me Band of Brothers. I've watched the first four like 5 times. Every time I'd think, eh, I'll just skip season 5, I end up checking it out of the library instead of buying it.

The library here in Newark has some pretty great programs for kids. The kid loves that place

All 5 are good. I like season 5 because it shows the characters start to cycle with Dookie becoming a new Bubbles and Michael becoming a new Omar and what not. Everything is changing and yet it all stays the same. My all time favorite season though is probably season 3...and season 1. So yeah, two favorites.

Edit: I suppose soon this conversation will be split off from the Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul thread.
