Breaking Bad / Better Call Saul

Did the interview at the start of this weeks episode have anything to do with Breaking Bad?

I don't think that was an interview. Jimmy (in prison) was visited by his attorney brother (in the 80's, judging by the hairstyle).

Probably just to illustrate what drove Jimmy to become an attorney (when he told his brother he'd do anything he told him to do).

Finally caught up on Better Call Saul. Love it. I damn near fell out of my seat to the ending of the first episode.

And it only gets better from there...

Absolutely. Aaron Paul - this kid is a supreme talent. I've had to deal with heroin addiction in my immediate family and the way he portrayed and acted how some of these people behave was both chilling and accurate.

To the point you won't convince me that the guy didn't at least use or spend significant time around addicts while getting into character.

Man some of those are the darkest scenes from the show.

Mike's origin story tonight. Damn.

I thought at the end of the episode it was going to reveal Mike's daughter-in-law wearing a wire for the police.

The subtlety of "Hold on Loosely" by 38 Special playing in the cop bar and Mike using a .38 to kill the cops (very next scene) was funny (almost like "Bodies" by Drowning Pool playing in Breaking Bad when the bathtub melted through the ceiling).
