Breaking Bad / Better Call Saul

The first two episodes of "Better Call Saul" weren't that bad. The hope of standing on its own and not having to over-rely on "Breaking Bad" characters was met.

***Spoiler Alert***
1) I was laughing when Saul really ended up at a Cinnabon. And I remember how bad those things (the Cinnabons) are for you while watching the frosting being applied.
2) My leg hurts from just watching Monday's episode (Mijo).

From the first couple episodes, it looks like it could be really entertaining...I was confused until someone informed me it was a prequel, then everything made since. Interesting how Tuco and Mike have already surfaced.

The Cinnabon scene made me want to go jogging instead of hungry. But good for Cinnabon with embracing it (even thought it's obviously Saul's lowest point).

I'm going to guess that Gus Fring will surface by Season 3-4 (since Mike is his "Cleaner" and he's already on the show).

***Might be time to change the Thread Title.

Couldn't get two lines out of my head (from episode 3):

- "What'd you eat for lunch? The whole Roast Beast (Dr. Seuss references always fun)."
- "I'll take an Edible Arrangement as a sorry. Heavy on the pineapple."

Rhea Seehorn is prettier than most/all of the female regulars on "Breaking Bad", so that's good.

+++Spoiler Alert+++

My prediction:

- Kettlemans drop their current attorneys and go with Uncle Jimmy.
- Kettlemans give Uncle Jimmy a piece of the pie and launder the rest.
- Mike becomes Jimmy's confidante.

After this episode I'm wondering if this is more than a 2 season series. He seems to be developing very fast as a character, and it feels close to the start of Breaking Bad already. I give it 3 episodes before Gus makes his first big appearance. Also, I'll be the first to say it; he "connects" with Gus through the Kettlemans.

I don't think Gus will be in Season 1, outside of maybe a cameo appearance (nothing drug related). I don't think the creators want to use Gus, Madrigal or the cartel yet.

Hector (no bell required), via Tuco, may be used as a cameo. Maybe Bogdan.

I think they're going to just work on building the brother vs. law firm dynamic and how Jimmy became an attorney. I really have no doubt Jimmy uses the Kettleman's money to move out of the nail salon into his own office.

Saul's 1998 Suzuki Esteem has a Blue Book value of about $600 at time of show (not 2015). I guessed on mileage and the engine is shot.
