Braylon Edwards (official drop thread)

I didn't watch the game. Did butterfingers drop any balls?

On the contrary, I thought he played a great game. He made a few really nice circus catches, made the routine plays (which he's struggled w/ his entire college and pro career), and played w/ a lot energy. Sometimes you just need a change of scenery to get the focus back. Losing trumps a lot. I'm curious to see if that energy and focus is still there in week 14,15 and 16. I do like that I don't feel obligated to root for the guy anymore now that he isn't a Brown. Rooting for those scUM guys on your favorite teams is a tough thing to do. The ball he dropped on the goal line would have been a tough catch and they did call PI although there wasn't much contact.

:oh::io:

"Censor" Braylon Edwards.

What a piece of crap. Bitch was always about himself. Dude couldn't catch a pass in College and it followed him. I hope the Jets lose the rest of their games this year, and wish the same to any team that this dildo ever suits up for.

Peace.

Braylon needed a fresh start. I'm gllad he's not on the Browns. Too big of an ego in the locker room. I would not call him a cancer, more like a bad festering boil.
Call Berea, the home locker room, and Cleveland Clinic--
The mystery is solved, the source of the staph infection has been found, cleansed and removed!
All is safe now!

Braylon To Cleveland Fans: ?No More Messages!?

Posted by Rick Chandler on Oct. 15, 2009, 4:00pm

New on ABC: ?Everybody Hates Braylon.? In this week?s episode, disgruntled Cleveland Browns fans are bombarding Braylon Edwards with Twitter and text messages, reminding him that he isn?t exactly their favorite receiver. Braylon is not exactly amused by the abuse, as you can see in one of his replies, below. Where?s that YouTube crying guy when you actually need him?

I just got a mental picture of Romeo Crennel brewing this guy some herbal tea.

He made a couple circus catches in traffic, including one down the sideline on a beautifully thrown ball by Sanchez, then he dropped at least two in crunch time which, while not easy, where all easier than the catches he made in Qs 1, 2, and 3. The two 4th Q drops hit him on both hands. The Jets wound up scoring on both those drives anyway, so he wasn't a huge liability.

The Jets lost because their defense couldn't stop the Wildcat or Henne, who looked like a seasoned pro, not because of the Jets offense or Braylon.

Braylon only dropped 1 pass that entire game, and it was the deep one where Will Allen got called for a phantom PI. That really was a BS call. Which brings me off-topic a bit, the NFL HAS to do something about the PI rule. The Jets got 49 yards off of a BS call. I think they need to have two versions of PI, a 15 yard PI and a spot PI call. I think the 15 yard should be called for about every PI call they make, but the spot PI call should only be reserved for really flagrant PI, like for instance if a DB tackles a WR while the ball is in the air or something. I just think it's ridiculous that the NFL gives the refs the power to throw a flag and give a team 49 yards off one flag. A flag which was a BS call to begin with.

Going back to that drop, Braylon should have came down with it, but it wasn't like it was a routine simple catch. Braylon dropping the easy ones is what has plagued his career. He didn't do that in his first game as a Jet.

I was very impressed with the guy to go out and play like that with a rookie QB and only being with the team for like 3 days. I think if Edwards keeps his head screwed on right that Sanchez to Edwards could potentially be one of the best QB-WR combos in the NFL for years to come.

Mbama don't mind him. There's no reason why Sanchez/Edwards can't become a great connection for the Jets. Both young. And with young quarterbacks you like to have that 6'5"+ security blanket there for you to throw to. Roethlisberger and Eli had it with Plaxico, Rivers has it with Gates, Jeremy Shockey and Manning... etcetera. Talent wise they both certainly have the makings of a good pairing.

Yup.

Agree with you, and to be honest I am even higher on Sanchez' potential than I am Braylon's.

Sanchez has the make-up of a very special QB. Just watching him on the field and in front of the camera being interviewed, he just seems like a great kid with a great head on his shoulders. He also commands the respect of his players, and when Braylon was talking trash to the Fins defense after he made a nice catch, Sanchez ran up to him yanked his jersey and told him to get his ass back in the huddle. Not a lot of rookie QB's would do that to a diva WR like Edwards.

Sanchez has a very confident yet calm air about him. He also happens to have a hell of an arm and throws a tight spiral on nearly every pass, he's gots great mechanics, good footwork and a very quick release.

Mark Sanchez is the real deal IMO. Cannot believe the Lions drafted Matt Stafford over him. The Jets made out like a bandit getting Sanchez over Stafford at a lower pick with a lower $$$ tag.

Let's be clear though. Stafford still has the much higher potential. That's why the Lions drafted him first. Sanchez is going to be a good one. But Stafford has all the tools physically to be great. Don't know if he'll ever get there in Detroit, however.

Stafford has a HUGE arm, but that only goes so far.

Sanchez is ahead of Stafford literally in every other aspect of what it takes to be a good QB, and it's not exactly like Sanchez's arm is Chad Pennington like. Sanchez has a great arm.

Stafford misses wide open receivers regularly, his accuracy is shoddy at best, his touch on passes, his foot-work, pocket presence, accuracy, and mechanics are all well behind Sanchez'.

I watch the Lions. It's painful man.

Sanchez looks like he's going to be great. His touch on passes and his placement on the deep ball are incredible for a rookie. He's going to be one of the Top 5 QB's in the NFL within 3 years. I think he's that good.

Stafford will never be a top-flight QB in the NFL. I think he'll either bust out completely or bounce around from team to team like Joey Harrington.
