Brady "XLLL" Hoke (Head Coach San Diego State)

Since we are on the the topic my other two thoughts regarding scUM's upcoming season;

1) Lets say the defense does improve some (it would be hard not to), are people allowing for even a slight drop off from the offense? Putting shoelaces under center and running a prostyle with guys built for the spread isn't going to be a seamless thing.

2) Looking back at last year the team went 7-5. 2 wins were double digit, all 5 losses were double digit. The 5 games that were 7 points or less were all wins for tsun and more specifically games where the offense was able to outscore the opponent. If the offense falls off some its going to be hard to replicate that amount of things going your way again I would think.
Michigan gave up 458 points last season. In 2001, Ohio State gave up 244, representing the worst defense Ohio State has had in this century in route to a 7-5 record. I have a hard time believing the same pieces of shit who couldn't keep opponents out of the end zone last season are going to fair 150% better this year just because Brady Hoke is "talking the talk." And... even if they ARE 150% better, that still represents the worst D Ohio State has had in 10 goddamned years.... when they went 7 and fucking 5!

Your point about the offense is equally valid. I mean... Jesus... I get them being excited for the new guy, especially on the heels of the last clusterfuck regime.. but.. come the fuck on... I don't care how good the 2012 class is, not one of those kids will suit up in 2011 (and really, as good as a Frosh class may be, relying on them for wins seems a fools errand)... What Michigan has is a team built to play one way, which will be made to play some other way (a bit of an assumption on my part, I suppose).

Moreover, I can't understand just how in the fuck Vegas has The Game as a "pickem" right now (I heard this on the radio, I don't know if it's true). Even if the Tat5 are gone, and bear in mind, 4 of them will be on the field this November, Michigan is severely under-talented comparatively. This hasn't changed just because Hoke says "Ohio" instead of Ohio State.

Good point, Hoke and company already said they have installed "spread" type plays for DR.

It all hinges on if we have a running back worth a damn, I don't know if we do, I believe our best running back talent wise is incoming freshmen Thomas Rawls.

Jax I agree with your post, we could end up 4-8 just as easy.

Copied from the Denard Robinson thread:

Hoke saying stupid shit again

"This is Michigan -- there aren't going to be any excuses," Hoke said. "If we don't win the Big Ten championship, we failed them as coaches."

This fat fuck thinks if he says "Because we're Michigan" or "This is Michigan" enough times, they'll magically become a good team again.

can we get a vbet going on how many times Hoke says "We're Michigan, or This is Michigan" this season?

My bet is 1,200.

The arrogance this tub of mayo has with a career record under .500 is amazing.

Arrogance? me? In the words of old Coach Bear Bryant, "If you done it, it ain't bragging!"

OTOH, it really is humbling for the Hokester to have a thread devoted to me and to have such a large fan club on this Ohio forum.

I do anticipate the worldwide recognition garnered from a renewed rivalry between two legends and giants of college football. I wrote that on the Notre Dame website also, but I was really referring to Ohio.

Re. my career wins vs. losses, my record would be above .500, you know, if I had had the privilege of coaching at Michigan for all my career.
This is Michigan we are talking about you know.
And by the way, my recruiting class understands my ability for getting it done on the field. So there!
