Brady "XLLL" Hoke (Head Coach San Diego State)

MaxBuck;1887528; said:
I'll be completely honest - it will be a lot harder to hate Brady Hoke than it was Rich Rodriguez. He has the Wolverine stench about him, but it seems clear he's a good guy otherwise.

I wish Hoke well in bringing UM up to the level where they can reliably beat most of the teams on their schedule. It will make that final regular-season win that much sweeter for the Buckeyes.

Hey Maxbuck, don't get all sentimental on me, you will learn to despise the Hokester when that stench becomes repulsive.
And about that good guy facade, my momma taught me Prov. 25:21-22.

I fucking hate Michigan, but I never thought Lloyd Carr didn't "get it" (unless were are talking about pussy). I'm perfectly willing to deal with Hoke being worthy of respect while still hating Michigan.

Fuck them.

I thought that Les was the Michigan Man who got all the pussy in that program?!?!?! Color me confused.

Here's hoping the guy with this job keeps it for at least a decade.

They can just keep checking the Dispatch to see if the counter is accurate.

Spring practice is stating today for TSUN.

Michigan's Hoke posts reminder of losing streak to OSU

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -- Michigan coach Brady Hoke will lead college football's winningest program on the practice field for the first time Saturday.

Hoke has already sent a message to his new team about what matters most.

Near his office in Schembechler Hall, a graduate assistant is in charge of updating the number of days it has been - more than 2,600 and counting - since Michigan beat "Ohio," as Ohio State is referred to by Hoke.

The red-lettered reminder is in the middle of two clocks counting down the time until the next games against Ohio State and Michigan State, the Wolverines' top rivals.

"Those are pretty important games," Hoke said. "We want to think about those games every day."

Michigan has lost seven in a row to the Buckeyes and three straight to the Spartans. Rich Rodriguez went 0-6 against both teams and he was fired 2 1/2 months ago.

Hoke made it clear when he was introduced as head coach on Jan. 12 that beating the Buckeyes was a priority as he pounded the lectern with each word uttered about the team the native of Dayton, Ohio, grew up rooting against.

"It's almost personal," Hoke said at his first news conference in Ann Arbor.

Hoke can't wait to get down to business with the first of 15 practices on Saturday and especially for the first one in pads on Tuesday.

Thanks for the good hope for a long tenure BB73!

and so grateful you find inspiration in my countdown clock to Ohio.

I find it somewhat disappointing, actually I feel slighted and personally offended that your site only has a countdown clock to Akron! :yow1:

Here's my question--Has 6 years of victory made you all complacent, diminished your passion for the greatest rivalry in college football?
It's hard enough firing up my state let alone you guys over the importance of Nov. 26!

If you want to make a point of counting something, try counting wins. tOSU has won THE GAME 7 straight years, Hokester.

So you must like trivia?

Not to be disrespectful, but here is what the Hokester has noticed since joining your highly respected community, I'm smelling complacency with the greatest rivaly in college sports history: :box:
1. No countdown clock to Nov. 26.
2. Strong fan support for the new coach, the Hokester even found a fan club on BP :shake:
3. Relying, finding solace, taking pride in a countup clock since last loss in the rivalry.
4. Countdown clock to Akron!!!! Are they really your dreaded, hated rival.
5. The Hokester has not recieved any negative rep for over a week. RR told me to expect it daily!

Thank you RR for breeding complacency, stifling any passion at the school in Ohio for THE GAME!
It looks like when Hail to the Victors Valiant sounds in AA in 250 days, no one at BP will care.

You really should start calling us Ohio State. Your players may genuinely believe that TSUN hasn't beaten Ohio U since '03.

TSUN has never defeated Ohio University in football. Same as TSUN has never defeated Toledo, except they've actually played Toledo.

Hoke could make up to $3.25M a year at Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Brady Hoke became Michigan's coach more than two months ago without asking how much money he would make.
His faith was rewarded.

Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon said Hoke will average $3.25 million in annual compensation if he fulfills the six-year contract he signed Monday.

"It's a big job with a lot of expectations and we feel very good about how much we're compensating him to help us reach those expectations," Brandon said in an interview with the Associated Press.

Brandon said Hoke will be paid $2 million this year and his base salary will increase by $100,000 each season. Hoke will earn a $1.5 million "stay bonus" after his third year and another $1.5 million "stay bonus" if he is still leading college football's winningest program in the sixth season of his contract.

Michigan fired Rich Rodriguez after last season with three years left on his six-year deal that paid him about $2.5 million per season.

Hoke has a chance to make more than Rodriguez, but he would need to have a lot of success and a new deal to catch up to Ohio State's Jim Tressel or Iowa's Kirk Ferentz.

"Brady's contract puts him in the top third of the Big Ten and that's where the Michigan football coach should be," Brandon said.

That sounds like some doubt you know, from the members of my fan club!
Come on Wolvy have some faith in the new guy!

BTW, The Hokester put some of that scratch down on some real estate, I plan to be around for all 6 years, bought me a new doublewide and parked it down by the river.
You fan club fellers are invited to come over after THE GAME.

So let's get this straight

Brady Hoke:

Born in Ohio, rooted for Michigan because he thought it was "cool" and he could rub people the wrong way.

Goes to school at Ball State, refuses to wear his own school colors because of his bandwagon allegiance to the Wolverines.

Has no actual ties to the university until becoming an assistant coach there.

Yes, Michigan has hired a "Wal-Mart Wolverine"
