Brady "XLLL" Hoke (Head Coach San Diego State)

The bottom line is that this guy is just not an elite coach. 11 years as a head coach and 1 conference championship says all you need to say.
Elite? He's might not even be good. When they hired him, I think the general consensus here was that eventually be might be post-2000 Llllloyd. scUM fans have to HOPE he can get there now, because I'm not even sure he's that...

It's never his fault. Big contrast between Meyer and Hoke. Meyer will lament the coaching staff failed the players by not putting them in a position to win after wins! Hoke says the players just can't follow a game plan or the coaching they were given. They just don't execute.
Maybe if the fatass actually got involved in the game plan rather than wandering up and down the sidelines saying "what the fuck?" all the time his team would do a bit better. You know, like throwing a headset on and hearing what your assistant coaches are doing and maybe intervene and say "Uh...Um...Hey guys, that play hasn't worked the first 15 times you ran it, let's try something else."

They get what they deserve hiring Choke. Guy hasn't proven a damn thing as a head coach.

I still want to know exactly what he does during games besides stand on the sidelines, sweat, and be fat. I just cannot comprehend how a "head coach" can totally eschew wearing a headset. To me, that just makes him a glorified fan with the best seat in the house to witness the unraveling.

I wanted a reporter to ask him why he put on a headset yesterday.

You ever hear of the play clock?

From Hoke's presser:

Five of six is pretty significant. Do you think there’s that big of a gap?
“I don’t think there is a gap. I think they played awfully well, executed awfully well. I don’t think we did.”

There's no gap, you guys. MSU just "executed better." Not the coaches fault. The players just aren't "executing." This guy is a hack.

The last decade and foreseeable future is the byproduct of an organization that has a warped view of the world. The initial losses under LLLLLoyd were ok because 'we'll get them next year.' That frankly, was a head in the sand move. Then comes the RR hire as a reaction to the last couple years of 'right now, we suck.' But at the end of the day, the arrogance of the AD office enabled the program and their fans to have their attention drawn to the shiny stuff at the bottom of the pan. Many of us saw the writing on the wall and a few even predicted the hiring of RR to be a 10-year error. Fools gold, and one hell of a price to pay for that fools gold.

Now, after a second reactionary hire with Choke, we're seeing the continuation of the grasping at straws approach the AD office at tsun has taken. They are now sitting between a rock and a hard place. They have a do-nothing head coach who has shown an inability to develop talent as the rock... The hard place is that they cannot get rid of him for fear that recruiting will fall apart, fear that they won't be able to find someone capable of turning things around, and the realization that anyone who could hold recruiting together and could turn it around would be skeptical of an AD office who clearly has no clue what it is doing.

Now let us pray...

Dear God, thank you for Coach Tressel for starting the sequence of events that have lead to the complete unwinding of the football program at tsun. Thank you for LLLLLoyd and the country club. Thank you for Bill Martain, you know what a magnificent SOB he is. Thank you for the grand success Rich Rod had at WVU and the charade that his scheme would work in AA... and his subsequent hiring therein. Thank you, Lord, for slot-dots, McHoppy and 4CA. Thank you for bringing the Boren boys home. And while you carried us through the rough parts when some of our boys and coach fell short of their expectations off the field, thank you for delivering home Coach Meyer who clearly is on board with continuing to complete the work you showed us how to do.

We are truly blessed.

Thank you.
