Brady "XLLL" Hoke (Head Coach San Diego State)

I am getting scared that BLT Hoke will be fired and tSUN might hire a better coach.
No way. Two highly (albeit questionably) ranked classes get him two more years of high expectations. That is what makes "Fire Hoke" threads so wonderful. The sense that he might be on the hot seat makes it tougher to bring in that third straight highly rated class. And if that sense of disappointment (Lewan must be thrilled with his decision) permeates the team itself it bleeds through on visits.

The Holly Rowe comment from Hoke at half-time was (to paraphrase) "MSU did some things they didn't expect in the first half that resulted in 4 sacks, but they had it fixed." The improvement in how well they protected the QB in the second half is a reflection of just how good a coach Hoke is. They had a bye week to get ready for their Little Brother major rival for God's sake and delivered a steaming pile of crap game plan.

The UM fans can whine about the talent left from RR all they want. But good coaches make their teams better as the year goes on. That didn't happen last year and it ain't happenin' this year.

Recruits can't watch a game like that (with no O) or games like PSU or IU (with no D) and be convinced this is the school that will prepare them for the NFL. If they finish strong in recruiting this year I will be shocked and disappointed. Just one major defection and it could get interesting.

I genuinely thought the fun was over when RR left. I believe I may have been wrong.

Hoke's ability to convince people that "the problem is fixed by half time" is what works for him on recruiting. He seems to have his recruits brainwashed. Here's hoping for a defection. Hopefully, tOSU will bring the wood against them and wake up their recruits.

They won't fire him but I'd be happy as hell if they did.

It would fuck with recruiting and they aren't going to get a whiff of a big time coach after firing the least 2 with only a 3 year leash for each.

Bill Martin may very well be the greatest human being in the history of human beings.

Brady Hoke is to moron as Bert Bienenema is to douche.

I couldn't agree more. I don't think he could coach his way out of a paper bag, after eating his way into one.

Hey look it's a wolverine trap....

In case you missed it, the game turned on 8 to 6 plays.
It was those 8 plays that Gardner couldn't get the hot potato out of his hand fast enough before the Sparty front went Smear the Queer on his ass, as opposed to the other 60-some plays he did get the ball out about a half-second fast enough before getting smeared.
