BP'ers get all nerdy about weather (split from Poll thread)

where their fans might actually stumble into such unfamiliar institutions as museums, concert halls, architecture tours or restaurants that aren't known for their possum dishes.

Not going to lie here. Sitting on the toilet trying to get some awful fast food out of my system when I read your post. Laughed so hard that it all came out nice and fast. Thank you.

So you think AD's get to schedule Bowl games based on fan's vacation desires?

No Jax. I said "spend time and money for a little vacay to watch an away....game". AD's do in fact schedule away games for many reasons, Bull Gator/season ticket holder/fan interest among them. Can we choose not to go to Bloomington, IN or Lincoln, NE in the freaking late fall?? Yes, yes we can. And you might step back a second and ponder why bowl games are historically played where they are played. (HINT: it involves pre-Mike Slive/ESPN decisions.) Now, why would people want to go to the Orange and Sugar and Rose Bowls in January when there were so many neato northern venues back in the day?? It is like one gigantic riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma...

The point is, was and shall always be a massive climate change and home field/proximity is a major advantage. Spinning up straw men about how you think people like to spend vacations means dick.

Show where in my post where I denied that climate and proximity can be a major advantage Jax.

But since you think that where people 'like to spend vacations means dick', why don't you invest your money in some new bowl that will be set for early January in some outdoor stadium in northern Indiana. Because I bet nobody ever thought of that. You'll make a fortune, I tells ya...

If there was a Bowl game in Tehran, OSU fans will show.

We don't go for vacations.

are we really saying 46° (average night temp) is “hot and humid”?

46 degrees in early January? Yes - that is "hot". Maybe not "humid". (That depends on the humidity.)

What year was it a few years ago when the temperature didn't get above 0 for about 25 straight months? I'm sure I'm exaggerating, but when a guy who prefers the cold to the hot starts whining like a little girl about how cold it is, you know it's cold.

Yes, the eager to travel northerners are willing to pony up and travel to the backyard of the other conference, who would probably not reciprocate in similar numbers even if weather were not a consideration.

Yeah, they never hold any big games in the heart of Midwest country.

5 years apart, and they're headed back again in 3 years.

A year later?
