DENVER -- Gone are those pleading, pathetic days when the Boston Red Sox were practically begging to win a World Series. There's a new monster in baseball, and it's in Boston.
Overwhelming in every way, the Red Sox swept to their second title in four years last night. Jon Lester, Mike Lowell and the rest of the Red Sox left little room for drama with a 4-3 win over the Colorado Rockies in Game 4.
Then again, no National League team could have blocked Boston this October.
"This team has got a lot of heart," Red Sox captain Jason Varitek said. "We worked really hard. We just beat a very, very good team, an excellent team. We had to do the little things."

DENVER -- The Colorado Rockies played their best baseball when it was do-or-die.
Not on this night.
Needing to recapture some of the wizardry that got them here, Todd Helton and the Rockies bowed out of October with a whimper, losing 4-3 last night to the Red Sox, who swept their second World Series in four years.

After the final out, thousands of Sox fans convened behind the third base dugout and lingered for more than an hour, standing, chanting, and saluting their champions. The first "Yankees suck" chorus broke out 22 minutes after the game ended.

What I didn't care for was how A-Rod tried to start smack on Game 4 of the WS saying he is opting out of NY. Sushi is it possible for boston to afford A-Rod and to see Mike L go if they don't re-sign him. A-Rod wants a Championship.

Your guys played lights out. The Rockies were most definately outplayed. We're still proud of our team and look forward to achieving our next goal, winning a World Series game. :ohwell:
