In all fairness to the Indians, Danielle is a native Ohioan (grew up in Coshocton).

However.....

Great win last night, but it's soooo frustrating to see Coco still out there. Put in Ellsbury and leave him in! Ugh.
I feel bad for Coco. Unlike Drew and Lugo, his offensive ineptness actually seems to bother him. After he fucked up those two bunts last night it looked like he was about to cry. He's lost all confidence.

And the whole Ellsbury situation hasn't made anything better for him. This 22-year old kid, who everyone knows is the center fielder of the future, not only gets an early call-up, but comes up and hits .353 with 3 HRs and 18 RBI in 33 games. Now he's slumping on the biggest stage, and people are inevitably calling for him to be replaced. Can't be fun.

Still, if I'm Terry Francona, there's no way I start Ellsbury in CF tomorrow night. Last night, with Beckett on the mound, ok, but not with Schilling, or with Matsuzaka. Coco, for all of his offensive troubles, has been the best CF in baseball this year, and, unlike Ellsbury, he's very familiar with Fenway. The consequences of Ellsbury mis-playing a ball off the Monster or in the triangle are far greater than Coco missing a bunt.

Beckett is tough. Thankfully he's not pitching in Game 6. And say what you want about how clutch Schilling has been in the past, but years take their toll eventually.

Not sure what the Indians were thinking trotting out a Red Sox fan and Beckett's ex to sing the anthem.

My only problem with tonight's performance was that Ellsbury was tested once in CF and he failed, which let Garko, who ended up scoring, get to 3rd. If the game were 2-1 instead of 10-1 at the time Buck probably would've made a bigger deal out of it. Doesn't matter how fast he is, experience in Fenway's OF is invaluable.

Otherwise it was a great game. Pedroia's heating up, Drew finally came up big, 10 runs in 3 innings with neither Papi nor Manny getting a hit or RBI, Schilling saved the bullpen, Gagne had a 1-2-3 inning. If they keep this up Francona won't have to worry about pitching Beckett. It's all on Dice-K now.

Red Sox romp; Game 7 awaits

By Dan Shaughnessy, Globe Staff | October 21, 2007

Stock up on espresso and Red Bull. The autumn of dreams can be a sleepless season.

The Red Sox and Indians will play a seventh game at Fenway Park tonight to crown the 2007 American League champion. It'll be $103 million man Daisuke Matsuzaka vs. Cleveland's Jake Westbrook. First pitch, 8:23 p.m.
