Boston Red Sox (9x World Series Champions)

Beckett available

By Amalie Benjamin, Globe Staff

Yes, on two days' rest, Josh Beckett will be available out of the bullpen for the Red Sox in tonight's game. And it's not just him, though he is potentially the most important bullpen arm, as every member of the Sox pitching staff, other than Curt Schilling and Tim Wakefield, will be available.

"I don't know that it's limited to one [inning]," manager Terry Francona said, of Beckett's availability. "I do think we have to be realistic. He pitched two days ago. He's certainly willing to do whatever you ask of him. Like I said up there [in the interview room], we're not going to try to create a situation to pitch him, but if we need it, if we think it's our best way to win, we'll do it."

In game 7 seven of a 7 game series EVERYONE is always available. The losing team will have 5 months to rest up.

Sweet! The CT2 is what I take to Fenway. It drops me off right at the Landmark Center.

I wish I was still living in Boston tonight. When I lived there I walked to Fenway. . . and stumbled home.

We haven't had this good a game to look forward to since the 2004 ALCS, where every player is in play (okay, not Schilling and Wakefield), and everything is on the line.

I am geeked.
