Boston Celtics (17x NBA champions)

I have no problem with Ray Allen going down to Miami at the end of his career to win one more title. I do have a problem with people pretending that he's still Ray Allen. If he were, then it would be a cowardly move to join his enemies rather than try and defeat them. But he's silently acknowledging that he's just not good enough to be a leader on a title team anymore. There's nothing wrong with that.

But it is going to be the most boring season in the NBA next year that I've seen in a while. There is absolutely no one in the East that can even challenge the Heat*, and that says a lot more about how weak the conference will be than how strong Miami will be. The West will be fun though and the Finals should be interesting again. Miami has to be the frontrunner, simply because you know they'll be there and the West is a toss-up.

The revamped Celtics open the season tonight in Miami, where they have to watch King James raise his first banner.

Lots of new faces on the roster this year. Ray Allen is gone (Heat), Jeff Green is back (heart surgery), and of course Jared Sullinger is wearing green and white now.

Fuck Miami. Fuck the Lakers.

Just sayin': I would have selected a guy with proven NBA experience. The last time the Celtics hired a guy from a college (Rick Pitino) he was a flop, and he had some NBA experience (i.e. 87-89 NY Knicks).

Re: Rondo and Rivers have had their ups and downs over the years, and things reportedly came to a head this past season when Rondo dropped an F-bomb on his coach during a team meeting. Rivers apparently lost his cool and had to be restrained from physically fighting the 27-year-old.

If he isn't traded, it will be interesting to see how Stevens and Rondo get along.

:tongue2:
