Boston Celtics (17x NBA champions)

Amazingly, the Celtics have the NBA's best record since the AS break. It seems the best thing that happened to them was Jermaine O'Neal went down for the season and Ray Allen missed some time as well. Those injuries forced Rivers to stop trotting out the old guys for 30+ minutes a night.

The defense improved without Jermaine, who can no longer move or jump, and during Allen's absence they learned Avery Bradley can actually play. Now Allen is coming off the bench and the team is winning.

Still don't see them getting past the Bulls or the Heat in a series but seeing them whoop LBJ's ass twice in a little over a week was pretty funny.

Rose's injury opens the door a bit to the conference finals, perhaps, but beating the Heat would be a challenge. Pierce carried the Rondo and Allen less C's to a win in ATL in game 2, stealing home court in the first round.

This is likely the last hurrah of the "Big Three" as Garnett and Allen have expiring contracts and Ainge would be wise to use that cap space to go after some younger free agents.

A helluva lot would have to happen but I'd love to see a Boston-LA finals...against the Clippers.

If anyone can knock of the Heat, and cool off LeBron, it's the Celtics. They've always had his number.

Fab Melo, eh? I was hoping for Perry Jones but the Celts definitely need a big man presence in the post. Ironically, or not, Melo was taken with the pick Boston acquired in the Perkins trade.
