Boston Celtics (17x NBA champions)

Boston took the Magic to seven games last year without Garnett, so I'm not conceding that series although many will declare a Magic victory before it begins.

Then again, many of these same people predicted a Cavs romp over Orlando last year because Cleveland rolled through the first two rounds. It didn't work out that way.

Let's play the games and see what happens. :)

Rajon Rondo proved to me he's in the top 3 of PG's in the league. He might even be more dominate than Steve Nash but in a much different way.

Unfortunately for Boston, you don't get Mike Brown again. You get a guy who recognizes match-ups and effort in Stan Van Gundy. I expect Jameer Nelson to guard Rondo a majority of the time, but don't be shocked if he sees a lot more Pietrus. I'm sure Van Gundy recognized the importance of an athletic bigger on him. Mike Brown certainly lacked that ability. Because he doesn't see it, or he's just stubborn. I hope it's stubborness, otherwise he's the biggest idiot I've ever seen.

Boston took the Magic to seven games and were up 3-2 at one point in the series with out KG last year so one would think Boston would fair well vs Orlando.

I look for it to be a long series with the C's winning in six or seven games.

Eh. I don't think you recognize what an idiot Mike Brown is. Seriosuly. Garnett is over the hill, but abused an undersized Antawn Jamison b/c Brown didn't adjust. And if he did adjsut it was liekly Shaq guarding Garnett. Which meant wide open 18 footers.

Paul Pierce gave LeBron a rest on defense. He was terrible in the series. LeBron couldn't capitalize on the breaks he was getting, and Boston's win this series hides how bad he was.

Ray Allen got a huge break in Mo Williams guarding him. He gets a much bigger Vince Carter or even Matt Barnes. Party time is over.

Rondo is a beast and is a tough match-up for Orlando. I don't expect Nelson to be able to keep Rondo in front of him, and Pietrus comes off teh bench. Rondo should be able to have a good series. But Orlando is better suited to handle Allen and Pierce than Cleveland was.

I think the series is a lot different if Mike Brown recognizes what cutting Rondo off means. I don't think Paul Pierce has a huge series if he gets Anthony Parker rather than LeBron on defense. Those are the things Stan Van Gundy recognizes, but Mike Brown doesn't. The Cavs played, maybe their best quarter in 2 games in the second tonight, and Mike Brown never went to what was working in that quarter again. He's a flat out idiot.

I think the Magic take the series, but congrats on the win this series. I think Boston can win against Orlando but I just think they're younger, have an unstoppable game plan if they're shooting well, and I think they're a very confident team. Cleveland was not confident at all and played scared.

He's not close to Chris Paul or Deron Williams. He's easily better than Nash defensively, but overall I still gotta take Nash right now. Nash is more known for his assists but his shooting percentages are absolutely remarkable. Like top-5 all time type good. I'd actually put Derrick Rose ahead of Rondo when he's healthy but that one's close for me because Rose isn't great on defense yet.

I'd say Rondo is 5th personally, but close enough to #3 and #4 that I can understand that opinion.

It's in the eye of the beholder....but I'm taking Rondo in front of Chris Paul. He's more explosive. He can't shoot as well, but his ability to break defenders down makes it worth it to me.

I'd say my top 3 are Williams, Nash, and Rondo. That order can change on a nightly basis. If Chris Paul gets back to healthy and starts dominating like he did last year, he's right there too.

Derrick Rose enters the discussion next year. He's as explosive as Rondo, but he didn't domiante the Cavs like Rondo did. I know Rondo's cast is significantly better, but Rondo still put up triple-double type numbers in a majority of the series. Just sick.

The Chris Paul one I don't think is even a debate. 30 of the NBA GMs would take Paul and Williams over Rondo if it was for one (healthy) year. I thought Rose dominated just as much as Rondo personally but that one I would agree is still subject to opinion.
