They're going to go the Luke Fickell route and give Taver Johnson the job for this season then hire the best guy on the market in December.

There's no way anyone they would want would take the job now for a couple of reasons:

1. Canning Petrino, while the right move, is going to tear their fan base apart and anyone coming in now - no matter who it is - will not be a popular hire.

2. Competitively you're taking on an entire roster of kids you didn't recruit and you're doing it after spring ball is over.

Arkansas's loss is [insert desperate underperforming team name here]'s gain. He won't be unemployed long - nor, perhaps, married.

Personally, I think this is a dumb move by Arky, but they're entitled to their decisions. If they were willing to live with the character flaws that Petrino had already demonstrated before he was hired, it seems peculiar to shove him out the door over this minor transgression (not minor from a marital perspective nor a moral one, but in an employment sense).

Muhahahaha

We have successfully infiltrated Arkansas and replaced their chief man with one of our own. Up next; LSU, Auburn, and hopefully Alabama.

Edit: Also, I think Malzahn would be a bad fit. He's a great spread coach but that goes entirely against what Petrino's philosophy was. It'll take some time before they can re-tool that offense and return to the premier league
