Bob Huggins (EX West Virginia Head Coach)

Huggins and Rich Rodriguez together at alumni/booster functions should be quite a site for the eyes (and ears). By 2010 all WVU sporting events will have to be broadcast on pay-per-view, unless they just drop the audio feed.

That's one question while the other is will Beasley get out of his letter of intent to join Hugg at WVU and will Mayo change his mind about USC? Another interesting tidbit is how will Patterson react? He could be considering WVU now too. Walker will have to sit out a year.

I wouldn't think so, he'd have to sit out a year since he is already in school there. However, will Beasley ask to be released so he can go elsewhere?

He tore an ACL in early January, making him a risk in the NBA lottery this year. He may need to play again before getting drafted, and I can't believe he'd transfer and be ineligible next year.

I would guess he'd play at K-State next year and hope to be a lottery pick in 2008.

Regardless of injury and recovery, I think the NBA's stance is that Bill Walker isn't even eligible for the draft this year. So unless he wants to challenge the case, which would take more time and aggravation than he would like, he has to wait until the 2008 draft.

Thanks, I was just assuming that since he was playing college ball, he'd be eligible. But since he didn't graduate last June, he's ineligible unless he goes to court. Which isn't worth it considering the knee injury.

Typical draft logic. He's older than Andrew Bynum, whose in his second year with the Lakers.

That is my understanding as well...

I would also assume that Beasley would ask for a realease and wonder if he would follow Huggins to WVU. Also wonder if Huggins could get a guy like Patterson to join him at WVU...

Do you think the NCAA would do that? That Patterson call would be great and I bet would happen if Huggins took over at WV.

You can bet the money will be good, especially with WV getting 2 mill from scUM for Beilein. However, I'm of the opinion that decision will not be about the money. This one will be about Huggins ego. You can't tell me he wouldn't love to be back in the Big East with the chance to stick it up UC's ass every chance he gets, plus the chance to coach his ala mater. Those recruits are the only reason this deal isn't done already. If he leaves, it may not be a total bust for K-State. With some top talent, they may have a chance to snag a good up-and-coming coach who will stick around and build the program long term. Did anyone honestly think this would be Huggins last stop? Even if he stays for now, I'd say his days in Manhatten are numbered.

I will be more surprised if there is not an announcement today that he has accepted the position than if there is not.
i can say it now. but i all about said it to you yesterday.

someone said how women and money make men do crazy things. and i mentioned that those werent the only two that came to mind. ego and the home school have a pull also.

I have to admit this is probably one of the funniest days I have seen in College Basketball.
Donovan gives UK the thumbs down, against a backdrop of Florida losing not just Noah, but also Horford, Green and Brewer. (And his incoming classes are not fully set to replenish that vacuum). Meanwhile that bastion of good taste, Bob Huggins finds a home in the Big East from which he can vent his bile against UC for ditching him.

This day has plot overtones rich enough for a dime store romance novel. I love it.

Someone, draw me up a cover for that novel!
