But this is also somewhat different in that it was a head coaching job. It is not as if he left Burger King for McDonalds and then went back to Burger King. There were millions of dollars involved and this will greatly set back the franchise's off season work.

Greatly set back? As far as I can figure, he's only set them back maybe 3 or 4 days at this point.

Eh, who knows. The article on si.com was saying it wasn't signed yet. Either way. If he does have a SIGNED contract, Orlando would be pussies to let him out of it. Fuck that, a contract is a contract. How's this gonna come off to recruits? Probably won't make a difference, but the man obviously has trouble keeping his word.
too bad none of the Pros see a contract as a contract. Orlando will let him go with penalties. And I imagine Fla would want him back since he is a repeat NC coach. But they should get guarenttes this time.

Well, if the 200 new season ticket holders bought because they liked Billy, it is an issue. If the Magic lets them out, why should the Magic have to suffer the loss?

Not only is this true, but this is already being put on the front office. I personally think this is not fair, but it is happening. It hurts the Magic fans too. (Tibor, I'm not whining just pointing out how many Magic fans feel) Shaq left us, Penny left us, T-Mac left us, Brian Hill was terrible, and now this happens. Many fans are getting sick and tired of it.

Also, the front office stopped looking at other candidates and I am sure other candidates began to look elsewhere. This why is set the Magic back, IMO.

I'll trade you Finals coach Mike Brown and Drew Gooden for Dwight Howard. Deal?

It just leaves me to wonder, was this originally a play to get more money from Florida and he got called on his bluff?

Or did Florida offer him more money?

I believe he already makes as much as the football coach, so it's not like UF can go offering more or just down the hall Urban Meyer is going to have to remind them that Florida was/is considered a football school.

I think he realized he was a God in Gainesville, and can get top recruits now. I think he also comprehended that he was going to have a very very tough time in the pros.
