You act like the same exact thing doesnt happen in CFB... look at most of OSU staff, disciples from Meyer, it happens not just in NFL

Grinch coached the Safeties. The Safeties weren't good. He coached at WSU. The D at WSU didn't really appear to suffer after he left. And do we really want a PAC-12 coach coaching defense at OSU? (Don't mistake this for a defense of Greg Schiano.)

I hear people talking about how great Grinch is but I haven't seen it with my own eyes. If he's the best possible choice for DC then I hope we keep him. If he's overrated then I hope Day hires whoever is the best possible choice. It's his legacy at stake and he's putting together a coaching staff for the first time in his life. At Ohio State. Better get it right because if he doesn't get it right then he has no fucking idea how intense the spotlight on him is going to be.

Grinch isn't a "PAC-12 coach" - he was only at WSU for 3 years. He spent at least as much time at Mizzou, Wyoming, and New Hampshire... but ultimately he's a "Mount Union guy" if anything, and they do have a very strong track record in coaching.

Of course it happens in CFB... didnt mean to make it sound that way. I mean Withers, Beck, et al are all out there.
We hired Bill Davis like that... and i have no doubt at all he'll land somewhere when we boot him out the door.
RichRod is being brought back into the CFB folds. Wilson being talked about as a HC again even though his 1st stint was a disaster - and not just on the field.
Briles will probably find a home next year if not this.
JoePa would get hired again in the football coaching carousel.
