Cinci Buck,

I received a flyer from TWC in regards to ESPN classic stating it was being moved to digital along with ESPNU being added to digital., thus I called them and told them they're really turning a lot fans off and pushing them towards satellite given the BT network debacle and now this..... no decent excuse was given.

Called and complained about ESPN Classic being removed abruptly like it was and they gave us a 25 dollar credit! We weren't informed or anything, that's why I was pissed.

Some smaller cable companies might not have overflow channels, here is the coverage area Big Ten Network

What would be the point of having it if they didn't have the overflow channels? Who would decide which game would be on the channel? That would suck to have the BTN but still not be able to watch the game you wanted. According to the coverage map, if you lived in Michigan and were an Iowa fan, you would be screwed this weekend. I live in Michigan and wouldn't want to watch MSU or UM if OSU was on an overflow channel. I'd still be forced to go to a sports bar. My excitement is fading. It doesn't sound worth switching.

RedHawk - as long as your cable company offers digital (and ALL of them do) I can see no reason why they couldn't offer the overflow channels. It is all simply a sub-set of the spectrum for which they already pay. (In other words I don't agree with OSU_SPORTS on this).

I just spoke with a WOW customer service rep (for what it's worth) and they said that they will NOT have any overflow channels.

COuple things...

1 - Unrelated to your post.... but... BTN is on WOW now.... Checked it when I got home.. it wasn't supposed to come on til tomorrow (or so I thought)
2 - when I spoke to WOW earlier (AUgust) the cust. rep. assured me WOW would not be getting BTN at all.

I certainly don't dispute what you've said you were told, just saying the WOW gnomes probably aren't too up to speed... on the other hand.... I suppose them knowing what channel lineups are is different than knowing about ongoing contract negotiations....
