Big Ten Conference Divisions

Not only is this geographically most correct, it's pretty balanced with Michigan, Michigan State, and Wisconsin in one division and Nebraska, Ohio State, and Penn State in the other. It give Delany his spilt of Ohio State and Michigan and also allows him to maintain most rivalries.

But it doesn't make the new guys happy, since PSU and Neb are in the same division and are the furthest away from each other...

I just won two free tickets to the Sugar Bowl!!!!

I came in second in the Big Ten "Name the Divisions" contest with my suggestion of "Dora and Diego"!

Actually, I am so flabbergasted by this decision that I have removed my signature line. There should be mulligans in football. I say the Big Ten gets a "do over" on this one. Just announce you made a mistake and fix it.

Legends and Leaders aren't apples and oranges. They are apples and triangles. I can't make sense of it. (And I have an IQ of 102 - which is above average for those of you who don't know how IQs work).

Better to be laughed at now for a week or two than every time Sports Center is aired from August through January.

The Plains and Lakes divisions idea mentioned earlier would've been best. Here's how I'd have aligned the teams:

LAKES
Michigan
Michigan State
Minnesota
Northwestern
Purdue
Wisconsin

PLAINS
Illinois
Indiana
Iowa
Nebraska
Ohio State
Penn State

Not only is this geographically most correct, it's pretty balanced with Michigan, Michigan State, and Wisconsin in one division and Nebraska, Ohio State, and Penn State in the other. It give Delany his spilt of Ohio State and Michigan and also allows him to maintain most rivalries.

I've increasingly become a fan of just saying screw geography & attempts to game competitive balance completely. Just place the original Western Conference schools in one division & the johnny come lately's in the other:

Western
Illinois
TSUN
Minnesota
Northwestern
Purdue
Wisconsin

Eastern (or whatever other name you want to call it)
Indiana
Iowa
MSU.
Nebraska
Ohio State
Penn State

Interestingly it's only one team off from Mili's suggestion (Sparty & Illinois are swapped).

This can never be said enough....

Fuck Penn State & especially the whiny bitch ass fans

"Lincoln is an hour and a half farther away than Minneapolis!!!! It's a conspiracy aimed at US!!! Oh sweet Joe Pa NOOOOO!!!!"

Nebraska fans aren't going to cry about being 'forced' to travel to Happy Valley.

Nebraska fans are going to be ecstatic at being within a hundred miles of a Starbucks or an Apple Store.
