The unspoken issue is what this means to the pretense of student athletes. Time zones, travel weekends... these kids are going to be fed a steady diet of Zoom.

Well, these are the kids who did Zoom for school for a year and a half. Maybe that was all a conspiracy - a test to see if the Big Ten can be a nation-wide athletic conference.

Apparently OR St/WA St are suing the PAC for full control (including all assets--which is considerable). Was kind of wondering how that was going to be divided. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

It will be interesting to see how the courts see it. Both sides have an argument. OR/WA State are still members. The other group has the numbers

Well, they filed it in Whitman County where Wazzu is...and SC/UCLA have already been stripped of their voting rights for leaving. They asked for an answer by Monday as the meeting to dissolve the conference is Wednesday. Not long to wait.

Never thought I'd see the day when Montana and Idaho (could possibly) return to the PAC!

I hate people.

I've been thinking about the next round of expansion for both B1G and SEC, and wonder where the money will come from.
* Disney/ABC/ESPN - Not sure they can fund an SEC expansion. They can't even pay their people. But they could if they collapse the ACC.
* Fox/CBS/NBC - They could handle it, but probably have to pull ND. That would mean you pull the ACC powers first

My guess is the PAC12 collapse could be an indication of how the next moves will be made. The conferences are not driving these changes. The networks are, and the TV numbers from OSU/ND opened a few eyes

I still think there would be more money for the top schools they had a Premier League for college football and move the rest of the sports back to regional conferences. If most of the broadcast money is getting paid for football why do Northwestern, Indiana, etc. deserve the same share as the big 3? Break away the top 20 teams with their own massive tv deal split evenly. 21-40 with their own tv deal that is less, but still a decent chunk of money. Promote and relegate the top or bottom 4 every year so that every game matters. If you have 20 teams in a "league" break it in two division were each team plays the other 9 then have a 4 team playoff with the top 2 teams in each division. Top 4 teams in league 2 would play the bottom 4 teams in league 1 for the right to promotion. Schools would still have 3 games a year that can be scheduled with any other school for tune up or rivalry games. Let conferences go back to regional or academic affiliations rather than maxing out tv deals.

I think Clemson is starting the B1G rumors to leverage wherever they may actually end up.

Even if it's just tv deal money driving all this, how much does Clemson really bring to the table? The greater upstate South Carolina ruralplex? Sponsorship opportunities on the Fake TV Preacher Network? Clemson doesn't drive eyeballs anymore than it delivers full sets of teeth.

Then add in the fact they aren't in the zip code of being an academic fit for the B1G and I just don't see this as remotely possible.

The mental gymnastics on social media about how Clemson is a brand on par with Ohio State or Texas is pure comedy.

It's very possible they and FSU are really pushing for unequal revenue sharing in the ACC.
