I never met a florida fan until I went to school there.

When I wear buckeye shirt I get at least one O H 100% every time no matter what state I’m in, and I’ve been all over this country. I’ve even got a couple of in London.

I’ve never gotten a go gators in a florida shirt anywhere outside of an sec state. The grads that are fans of florida sports are typically from florida or Georgia and don’t leave the immediate area. A lot of grads don’t give a shit about football, those are the ones that leave.

I have seen Bama gear all over the country.

Vandy definitely does, but it's small and doesn't give a shit about football.

So here's my only story that might help add to this conversation:
My son's friend's father went to Vandy for grad school. And according to him, there really aren't any football fans there. On home games, the town turns whatever color the opponent is, because, according to him, there are more fans of the visiting team there. I'm guessing that's an exaggeration, but the point was made.
I'm not going to pretend to be a worldly traveler. In Cleveland, I know Buckeye fans, *ichigan fans, and Penn State fans. And then there's the fans of whoever Ohio State is playing - those guys are dickholes.

Paul Finebaum says more Big Ten, SEC expansion 'inevitable' after media rights deal

Paul Finebaum said the Big Ten's record-setting media rights deal is a game changer, and further expansion within the conference and SEC is coming as revenue numbers continue to multiply. The agreement is set to be the largest in college athletics history, a record $1.2 billion, according to CBS Sports' Dennis Dodd.

"I do think it brings the Pac-12 and ESPN closer together, but what I really think it does is amplifies the pressure on everyone to come up with more ways to bring in revenue and the only way to do that is expansion," Finebaum said Friday on Twitter Spaces. “I fully believe the Big Ten and the SEC are going to expand in the short term, whether that’s two or five years, that’s inevitable. We’re going to see the Big Ten and the SEC with 20 teams before you know it.”

I think the B1G will be "standing pat" unless adding additional team(s) actually increase each existing team's revenue, etc.; and currently only Notre Dame would do that.

McMurphy is going on all these radio shows acting like he knows exactly how things are going to shake out. Saying Big Ten will add 4 schools within 6 months. It’s hard to listen to.

cmon fellas, you act like this McMurphy guy lacks credibility or something. But ask yourself this: when has he ever been wrong? I’ll wait

…because you’re going to be typing for a l-o-n-g time

And the overwhelming majority in my opinion have never been to the state of Alabama let alone an actual game. Come February-March time frane those cunts are wearing Duke gear.

Case in point: nephew was an Auburn fan thanks to aunt and uncle being alumni. Then a Florida fan because Tebow. Then Bama because they win but a Duke BBall fan. He is now a UGA fan and is a freshman there. Family gatherings are hell and his little brother is a TTUN fan. Off topic, anyone know a good divorce attorney?

As any investor in $DIS can tell you, ESPN has been in a bind for several years and is hemorrhaging customers as cord-cutters look to lighten their cable bill. ESPN has lost >25% of their subscribers over the past ten years, and their reach is now no greater than it was in the 1990s. If you're the SEC, how do you put all your eggs in a basket with this trendline?

I don't know how they could, but I sure as hell hope they do

Bama has an ocean of t-shirt fans after the last decade, no doubt. But like the Fab 5 fans in the 90s, it will melt away the moment they come back to earth.

UC Regents considering rescinding authority from the UCLA Chancellor to make athletic decisions and then blocking the move. Unfortunately, they'd better have good lawyers because it's still breach of contract. The UCLA Chancellor had clear and established delegated authority to negotiate and sign that deal at the time. To retroactively reverse the decision doesn't change its underlying legality. And now that the B1G's media deal is inked, there are concrete dollar figures as to what portion of $8B was driven by adding the LA market. And none of this has a damned thing to do with "the best interests of our student-athletes." It's all driven by internal politics and Berkeley being butt hurt because little brother got a golden ticket and they didn't. If they're foolish enough to do this, all I can say is prepare your anus.

Also going to have to explain that this move will also kill several sports at UCLA. Their athletic department was a shit show buried in debt that couldn’t maintain the status quo.
This move might do the same to the Berkeley athletic department.

Yep I think anyone considering it a moron. Recinding rights is not the same as going back in time and undoing it.. You can't undo a decision already made without penalties
