Opinions on Kevin Warren now?

Building the TV network and adding Penn St will always be feathers in Jim Delaneys cap, but nabbing USC and UCLA seems a helluva more seismic shift in the broadcasting landscape than bagging Nebraska, Maryland, and Rutgers — none of which appeared to be wanted by the conferences they were actually already members of short of their buyout money and penalties.

It was stressed on the big ten network today that the socal schools approached the big ten. It looks like all Kevin had to do was answer the phone.

he tried hard to steer the ship on the rocks during covid, then was either lucky enough or smart enough to let others grab the wheel and prevent that disaster

He has not jacked things up though… considering the state of the State where I live, I appreciate people who can at least keep the lights on in the yacht they inherited

point being… I’m not building any statues of the guy, and the best things to happen on his watch were things he just needed to not fuck up. But there’s so much fucking up going on right now that I’ll gladly give credit where it’s due. Here’s to Kevin… the guy who hasn’t totally fucked everything up yet.

He's no Larry Scott, thank god.

Fuck Warren and there's nothing he can do to change my mind honestly. I'm counting this one to those schools feeling the need to move and Warren just said yes. I don't think he did anything and even if he did, it's not enough to make up for how he fucked our conference to this point. This is a good thing I think, but it would have happened with or without Warren imo.

And not aimed at you haha, I've just held a deep seeded disdain for Warren that will not ever be removed.

Kirk Herbstreit breaks down reported USC, UCLA moves to Big Ten

"I think OU and Texas were the first dominoes and now USC and UCLA are the next dominoes, and I don't think we're done," Herbstreit said. "... We don't have to agree with it. We can jump up and down if we're traditionalists. What in the heck's going on with OU and Texas in the SEC and now USC and UCLA in the Big Ten? Keep your seatbelt on, because they're not done."

"It's very, very hard for the ACC, the Big 12 and the Pac-12 to compete with the Big Two," Herbstreit later added. "And honestly, I think that's our future. I haven't spoken with anybody, but I think that's where this thing, when the dust settles, that's where we're going to be: with about 50 to 55 teams, half of them in the Big Ten, half of them in the SEC. For simplifying it, think AFC-NFC in the NFL. To have Saturdays, you're gonna have three divisions: West, Middle and East, or South, and that's what it's going to be. I think there's gonna be some very tough decisions, because you're gonna keep out a lot of teams that want to be a part of this future and they're not going to be invited. So it's going to be more of the haves than the have nots in big-time college athletics."

ESPN's Heather Dinich pointed to that factor earlier on Thursday regarding background behind the move.

"This to me honestly also explains possibly why we haven't heard yet about the Big Ten's TV deal, which has reportedly (been) closing in on a billion dollars," Dinich said. "When you're talking about each school in that conference making upwards of $80 to $100 million annually, of course there's going to be interest. Anyone who has followed college football knows that realignment is never over. But this is another shocker that is going to completely alter the college football landscape."

Kirk Herbstreit breaks down reported USC, UCLA moves to Big Ten

“The moxie of these programs and their show of speed in space, you know, the way they put the foot in the ground to pivot to the B1G? You have to credit the administration at USC and UCLA to reach out to Warren way they did… The adversity these schools have faced as members of the PAC… well… I expect their resilientcy* to show through. They’ll have to pull their chinstraps tight starting in 2024.”

*Resilientcy… is not a fucking word. They make us all dumber every time it passes their lips.

I'll wait and see what happens next. I'm not going to call a guy a master fisherman for catching fish that are jumping into the boat.

Just wait until USC or UCLA enter Happy Valley in November for a night White Out game.

They may regret this decision once they learn about what those fucks are like.
The people making these decisions don’t give a single fuck if they win or lose those games…hell they’ve been losing already. Difference is, now they can be enhancement talent making Steve Austin’s salary…that’s all they want.

True, I just want to see Cali fans' faces when they meet PSU fans.
