I think the main argument against Texas Tech is that their TV numbers are abysmal.
I'm not sure it's possible to be a worse draw then KSU post synder. Their football is pretty bad their basketball is pretty bad. They are from a small state. They are Illinois/Purdue with shit academics to boot. I think the only schools close in the power five for net negative would be Oregon state and Washington state? I don't think the Pac 12 wants any of that. At least TTU is a big school rich and in Texas even if they are terribly mediocre otherwise

A better choice than TTU would be TCU, no? Bigger draw on TV (Dallas-Ft Worth) and ranks higher than TT academically, although only an R2 research university.

Man, it didn't take long for Surly to go full SEC!SEC!SEC!. I wonder how long until they start speculating on whether they'll get a Waffle House in Austin. What's hilarious is that they apparently had a choice. They packed up their little sidekick and approached the B1G who told them...."OK, we'll take the cancer, but we draw the line at the retards." And now, they are all in on a conference that they looked down their nose at for years.

TCU if a large school would be a no brainer but small religious school. Is there any other Boston college that exist in the power 5?
I don't think TCU is all that religious & it would not be the smallest school in the Alliance - That would be Wake Forrest. Size wise, it would be comparable to BC, Duke, Wake and Notre Dame. Endowment-wise, it would be between Wake and Boston College.
