So theres a lot of talk out there about the Pac 12, but I haven't heard anything about their media rights. I know that Fox owns them, but that's about it

What is the status of the Pac 12's media rights? Do they have a GOR? How much would the penalty be for each team if they leave their conference?

Great article below

https://www.mercurynews.com/2021/03...rld-threatens-to-leave-the-conference-behind/

Their deal expires before the 2024 season - long story short, they are hemorrhaging at the Pac 12 Network....they've openly floated the idea of courting OU/Texas, and the new TV deals are only going to further the gap. They certainly seem ripe for the picking.

If the B1G does elect to add more teams, I hope it for the right reasons, and not just a knee-jerk reaction to the SEC adding 2 big name teams. Desperation is a dangerous feeling and could lead poor leaders to making decisions they might regret later. (Offering ND an outrageous sum of money to join comes to mind for some reason.....)

In years past, it felt as though Delaney was the guy who was blindsiding the world by making these huge moves. Its clear that Warren was totally in the dark about the goings on in the SEC (among other things) and it make me nervous about the future of the B1G.....
Yeah, that would be like adding Rutgers and Maryland... Oh, wait.

Seems to me that a commissioner worth seven figures would have known his two biggest cash cows were negotiating an exit plan with another conference for more than 6 months.

If tOSU were doing similar, would you expect Warren to know?

I wouldn’t. This is to suggest that I consider our leadership to be equally inept as theirs… and we should use that as a lesson. We should all pray for Barry to take the yoke from the co-pilot seat.

Nor would I. Warren didn't know anything about this and wouldn't have if it were going on in the B1G.

If tOSU were doing similar, I wouldn't want Warren to know.

tOSU pays tOSU people big money to take care of tOSU business. And if that tOSU business requires deceiving Kevin Warren, then I hope tOSU has hired people capable of doing just that.

I agree with the intent of your post.

Can we also agree that "deceiving Kevin Warren" is an incredibly low bar to clear? I mean... Warren's dog probably accomplishes it by simply hiding chewed up shoes under the rug.

11W article this morning quotes new Pac12 commish who is rattling the saber on blocking CFP expansion now that it's clear the SEC wasn't working in good faith/parties had incomplete information.

He also comes out and says he didn't understand why there was such a rush to make a public statement about feasibility but now understands and thinks the way it was done is a "shame".

SEC and ESPN aren't getting any more professional courtesy from the other conferences from here on out and I think they've shot their wad way too soon.

The Pac 12 commish doesn't sound too much different than Bowlsby, or at least I can hope to take it that way.

I do wonder since Stanford was so close to axing more sports - would they be willing to be the first to jump to the B1G to save their sports with the much larger cut of the pie? If I was the B1G I'd be telling them they could get an equal share from Day 1 (sorry Nebraska, Rutgers....). I'd be a total giggle f*ck if we could start with Stanford and Cal.

At what point do we just call it what it is and combine/rename the conferences the FOX conference and the ESPN conference?

Teams will only be permitted to schedule games with teams from the same master conference. (B1G / BigXII / PAC12) & (SEC / ACC)

And at the end of the season, we can hold s special Super Bowl Game where the FOX Conference Champion will play the ESPN Conference Champion.
