FAMU was supposed to be a concert, not really a football game (and that part turned out to be accurate), but then the goofuses in the band decided to get themselves suspended.

Apparently the court cases are still going on:

Twelve former Florida A&M University band members face manslaughter charge in 2011 hazing death

Apparently 1 of the 12 charged "copped a plea" earlier this year:

Ex-Florida A&M marching band member gets one-year sentence for hazing death

Jessie Baskin, 22, is the first of several students to be sentenced for the crime of college hazing and causing the 2011 death of Robert Champion after a football game.
Baskin pleaded no contest to a manslaughter charge.

How many times did you accuse Andy Geiger of wanting to help white colleges for scheduling Washington State and the like?

Translation: "It's not fair! Give us some of your money. Give us some fans, some players. We're sitting here with... what? Blue turf? We have 2006, and maybe a couple of other good memories. Um... Guys, help me out. We have that one guy who proposed to his girlfriend - that was newsworthy. C'mon! Give us some of your loot!!!"

[BWI Cult Freak]You think those referees are free? The money O$U pays the referees has to come from SOMEwhere. It certainly doesn't come from the graduates because O$U doesn't ever have a graduating class. F*** Y**, OHowIHate!!![/BWI Cult Freak]

Add some stuff about how Joe is great and I can probably fit in nicely on that board.
Hey Hey Hey!!! You know better than to discuss that out loud!
By the way, just a reminder that everyone's payments to the B1G Refs Slush Fund are due prior to start of the season. Keep the conspiracy alive fellas! Keep it alive!

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was getting at about with the Ohio MAC schools. I don't even know what we pay them on average and whether it's the going rate or not. I'm just throwing the idea out there.
I remember reading a few months back about schools getting paid to go on the road. Can't find the link but OSU will be getting paid for their upcoming trip to Blacksburg. Similarly we will pay VaTach when they come here (probably a wash) as well as every other school not in the big ten that plays in Columbus. Perhaps we negotiate deals where the traveling school always gets paid when doing a home and home.

Florida A & M = Gene Smith wanted to help a "black college".

I think there was far more to it than that. This was about the time that Bill Willis was honored by Ohio State and his number retired. After breaking the color line in the AAFL and then the NFL - along with Marion Motley and Horace Gillam - and making the first All Pro team when the Browns entered the NFL, Willis coached at Kentucky State, an historically all black college. To bring in a team from an historically all black college added to the honor to Willis.

It was also an opportunity to have two of the most honored bands in college football on the field together. Unfortunately the Rattler band was still serving out a school administered punishment for extreme hazing.

I thought the set up for the Big Ten Championship game in and around the convention center and Lucas Oil Stadium last year was really well put together and a lot of fun.

That said, you'd think they would want to have the game at an east coast venue sooner rather than later given the focus of conference expansion in the area.

That would be the biggest negative from locking it in Indianapolis for such a long contract.
