Krujahewsky is too well connect not to know what's going on and his public statement was made with a purpose in mind. IMO he sees the inevitable picking apart of the ACC and considers the only chance of survival to make it public now and hope for some sort of backlash. Not likely to have much impact, but whatever their basketball program is worth Duke holds no cards in a game of football hold 'em.

1. This ought to make for some interesting comments on BWI - They get back the rivalry with Maryland - used to be a big game for them along with Syracuse and Pitt. But now they have to join an ACC that's leaking members.

2. U Cincinnati just had a sell out with Rutgers and now that rivalry is gone.

He knows that the PSU fanbase want to leave the Big Rust Belt conference, so he goes out and tries to bring in some East Coast teams to throw us a bone. Well, no way this is going to work. It just makes the Big Ten look less stable. I suggest we start packing our bags, gentlemen, because a spot just opened up in the ACC!

I dont see how this throws PSU a bone at all. Especially the Rutgers add, which now legitimizes them in their own state. Its possible Rutgers could enjoy real success recruiting in PA over the next half decade. How is that throwing PSU a bone?

Doesn't matter where they are now. And beyond that, Rutgers seems to be on an upward swing (much like Northwestern in the 90s) and Maryland just went through that swing in the 2000s (remember they nearly won an Orange Bowl against dickfingers Grossman and Spurrier).....

I see now... we just got the Minnesota of the ACC.

I'll wait to see what happens. But it would make sense in a lot of scenarios to return to the MWC. The Big East TV revenue can be a substantial increase for SDSU, however the MWC might be able to get a solid deal in the next TV negotiation if all those teams mentioned return. That would be a very good conference and probably better than the Big East. Being from the West Coast, I like a conference with Boise State, BYU, SDSU, Colorado State, Fresno State, UNLV, Nevada, etc.. more than the Big East collection.

Winning or losing, ok, mostly losing, the terps still get a lot of TV coverage in Baltimore and DC and Rutgers should do well in Jersey and Philly. TV market wise, it seems to make sense to me.
