Reminds me of the old Simpsons Halloween episode where the Earth is about to be destroyed and the best and brightest are evacuated for one rocket to Mars while all the losers are evacuated on a rocket that's being flown directly into the sun. Homer and Bart don't realize they're on the loser rocket until they look around at the other passengers.

Guess which rocket you're on, juggalos? Now that you're aboard, just look around.

Are you a Golgafrinchan telephone sanitizer?

Adding TCU, Boise State (and to a lesser extent SDSU) was a desperation move to prop up football. These schools may be fine institutions, but they're journeymen additions that have little in common with the other schools in the conference. A random collection of schools thrown together to attract television network interest won't last.

Not quite the case. Boise State has a better chance of getting an invite to the SEC then FSU does. Florida would block that in a second. Same goes for Georgia blocking Ga Tech.
Could be reading into that wrong, but I believe that FSU is scared of the widening financial gap between them and the SEC schools. That is to say, they aren't looking into joining the SEC (like you said, they'd be blocked in an instant). But that ACC deal is terrible. Financially, they won't be able to compete against Florida, Georgia and Alabama in the region.

15 year extension! and you can't even get a deal that puts you at the current and out-dated SEC deal... its terrible.

Agree. These two are far and away the best options left. Ga Tech as an academic institution would be a huge addition. Would also love to add Vandy and Virginia and call it a day.

Screw Vandy. They won't leave the SEC even with the conference academic issues.

Give me Maryland, Virginia, Ga Tech and Ntre Ame and call it a day. Adding those four will give the Ped Staters an eastern division they could live with and would also balance the Big Ten geographically in east/west terms.
