I just think it should be called the Annexation of Puerto Rico. I tried to think of a serious name for it but it got...a little much

The far left, now up and over one, and all the way to the bottom 27 degrees..ok now all the way to the right.. if your feet are wet you went to far.now up..keep going..you're near Home Base Conference.

I guess I don't see what Boise thinks they're getting out of this deal.

They're making the schedule more difficult for themselves, particularly their own travel for conference road games, and are not likely to be picked as an at large just because they're now in a BCS AQ conference (See: Michigan St) if there are other 'brand names' eligible. They now lose access to the gravy Non-AQ provision.

Essentially, they've traded having to go undefeated to make a BCS bowl for having to go undefeated and win a more difficult conference to make a BCS bowl.

They must really believe they can win a national title, otherwise ... I don't see it.

This is where you are wrong. In the past they had to go undefeated just to get a sniff at a BCS game. They don't have to go undefeated in the Big Least. They just need to do better than the other shitty leftovers that make up that conference. They still won't have a shot at the title game, but they will have have an easier time just getting in.

If they can't win the Big East there's no way they will be getting a BCS bid..when's the last time the Big East champ has finished in the top 14?

How could they not win this conference? provided they have another QB out there.

The potatards think they'd go no worse than 11-1 in the B1G. They have zero doubt that they'll be playing in a BCS bowl every year. Of course, that is assuming that this abortion of a conference maintains it aq status.

What's going to be interesting is the wear and tear on a team that will be playing conference games from San Diego to Florida to New Jersey to Boise while still having to hit the road if they want any kind of a marquee out of conference game.

What? You mean the B1Gs and $ECs of the world won't give them a home and home? I mean, seriously, who wouldn't want to play on that pretty field?

That's a big "if"

The Big East is a giant steaming pile of crap, but it's neither as big a pile nor as steaming a pile as the WAC. I just don't see the potatards running the table every year. Houston, Rutgers, the juggalos (provided they can hold onto a decent coach), Louisville and then throw in the possibility of Navy and Air Force are all programs that can take the potatards down. Boise might be the best of them all, but that's far different than rolling through a bunch of automatic wins as the WAC was for them for most of this decade.

The potatard strategy has been to start the season with one highly publicized ooc game against a top 25 (but not top 10) program, then make it through the one conference challenger that rises up and then finally roll into their bowl rested and with no injuries from the conference schedule.

They haven't even been able to accomplish beating their conference challenger the last two years. Now they're going to have to beat 3 or 4 conference teams that can hang with them while dealing with that hellacious travel schedule.

Any word on whether the Big East will pussy out and let them do the blue-on-blue thing again?

SIAP, but does this mean that the Georgetown or Villanova or St. John's basketball teams will have to play this shitastic lower-48 schedule? I'd be pissed if I were one of those teams, or the AD's of those schools and had to suddenly play and pay to play all over the damn country - espcially for my non-revenue (non mens basketball) sports.
