Having gone to an ISU home game I will enlightened those who have not.

NOT ONE PERSON GAVE A SHIT! It was just a tailgate atmosphere outside the stadium. Although I got pretty wasted I only heard two or three ISU fans say smack about my tOSU Scarlet and Grey. BTW, it was the same day tOSU lost to Illinois in 2007. They ended up beating Colorado, I believe. The student body does not think they have a Program but they do enjoy Flip Cup, Beer Pong, and just generally getting smashed on Everclear.

Is this a pic you took at the tailgate?

Exactly. A broke ass school with a tiny antiquated stadium that is only relevant in their corner of the state and is stil only the third tv draw (after Ohio State and UK).

The one thing they have going for them is opening up Ohio (and Cincy in particular) recruiting to B12 schools, but I don't know if that compensates for all their weaknesses.

They don't really care about UK football in Kentucky, much less north of the river. Also, posters keep mentioning spending money on football. But most of the debt UC ran up over the last 10 years or so was from excessive campus construction projects and buying surrounding properties. As a percentage of the total school budget, football has so far been just an afterthought.

BCS officials want to steady system

SAN FRANCISCO -- As schools chase BCS automatic-qualifying by switching conferences, the college football leaders in charge of the postseason system began discussing its future.

"I don't think any of us are happy that the BCS is one of the contributing factors to conference realignment," BCS executive director Bill Hancock said Monday after a meeting of conference commissioners and university presidents. "It's certainly not the only (factor), by any means. The BCS was never intended to be a divisive event. To the extent that the BCS can be a part of lending stability to the conferences, I think that's what everybody would like to see."

The current BCS TV and bowl contracts run through the 2013 season. Beyond that nothing about the BCS is a given.

My first response is .
But I guess I ought to ask the Nebraska fans if they agree that the Big Ten is easier, since they're the only ones who can truly judge this.

With the exceptions of Wisconsin and Northwestern, two EXCELLENT football teams, yes, the Big Ten is easier.

Frankly, I can't believe Wisconsin isn't ranked #1 and Northwestern #2. Must be some kind of glitch in the BCS numbers or something. They're unbeatable.

That is my totally unbiased and objective opinion.
