I am continuously amazed at the clairvoyance so many others seem to have when it comes to the thoughts and actions of people they don't know and their activities they have no knowledge of.

I'm just glad that people with such amazing gifts continue to share them on BP.

Prepare to be amazed.

I am basing my theory that the B1G will do nothing for multiple reasons.

1. There are only two viable schools that will work with the B1G conference to grow market share large enough to justify adding two schools. Texas and ND.

2. Texas/ESPN are sinking 300 Million to launch the LHN. They are going to want to keep the LHN. The LHN will not work with the B1G network. There are other conferences that will let Texas keep the LHN just to get Texas.

3. ND does not need to be in a conference. They have the brand name to be an independent and still get a huge TV deal from either NBC, or if they balk, I am sure ESPiN will throw a ton of money at them. They also have an exemption from the BCS to get into a BSC game without being a conference winner.

Yes, I have no inside information. I do not know anybody involved. It is like a mystery novel trying to solve the crime with the facts that are presented to you.

Was it a straight-up trade, or was there cash involved?

I believe there was Oil, smoked brisket, Trees, and hippies involved... not sure who got the better end of the deal... hasn't rained in a long time... which means the trees are dead and the hippies stink even worse

MWC and CUSA considering merge to make "Super-Duper Conference"

1. Doing that would currently be illegal under NCAA rules (there is no provision for semi-finals then championship mini playoff within a conference).

2. Neither conference currently has access to a BCS slot. Being in discussions with one another isn't going to make one magically appear.

3. LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Major University systems are all incestuous whores.

FWIW - Rumor is that Powers actually was the one pushing for the ACC & Dodds was the main driver behind the Pac-X (where of course Texas can go languish with late game starts & no interest from the eastern media).

PBC is pretty solid that the four letter network is behind the Pitt/Syracuse deal to lure Texas to the ACC.

So, you just know that they'd toss a [MarkMay]load of money at ND just to keep them away from the B1G and to eff Delany.

Of course, if the B1G got off their high horses, it'd be great to see ND get to play games against teams (in all sports) that were not within easy driving distance- "Hope that TV money buys lots of jet fuel, boys..." Jim Delany

Whatever. I'm glad there are folks with no ability to accept likely predictions. UT & ND are the remaining meaningful programs. They haven't expressed interest or have actively expressed disinterest in ND case.

What? they haven't posted their feelings about conference expansion on Facebook yet?

Despite the internet, there are things that still occur in this world outside of the public eye.

Speculating based on "known" information in this instance seems just about as useless as speculating based on no information given that a vast majority of the important things are occurring completely outside of everyone but a very select few's knowledge.

But whatever, it just annoys me when people make definitive statements based on far less than complete knowledge of situations.

Carry on.

Does anybody know how the tv contracts are set up? Are they based on number of households with subscriptions or viewers that actually watch the games?

I hear that it's only based on households but wouldn't viewers factor in somehow?

I can't believe ESPN would pay a huge contract so they could broadcast a game like this

Well, the ACC's first mistake was putting the championship game in Jacksonville, FL. Can't imagine a lot of people from Virginia or Boston wanted to spend a sunny fall afternoon in a redneck/conservative/jort-wearing city that the rest of Florida would just assume belongs across the state line in Georgia. Little known fact: When Georgia and Florida play the WLOCP there, the loser of the game has to claim the city of Jacksonville as part of their state for a year.

If you visit the Web site of Everbank Field, there are three pictures rotating in a slide show. They are:

1) A picture of the stadium empty.
2) A picture of the stadium at night for a Jaguars game, only half empty.
3) A picture of a monster truck.
