lots of deflecting going on about who killed the big 12... like someone said before, there better be some books written about this regardless of the ultimate outcome

Nebraska blaming Texas because Texas won't sign over its sport rights to the conference.

"Texas will announce its plans to join the Pac-10 after its regents meet next Tuesday, source confirm to Orangebloods.com."

Oh Chip...

I guess at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if this was indeed the case. From all accounts (and given the brief(?) history of the B12), Texas likes being the big fish in the small pond. If the PAC10 is really giving concessions then is it such a stretch that UT would take the deal?

As long as we have Nebraska on the BigTen, I'm pleased with this - it sure as hell is fascinating to watch unfold, however.

he basically blamed Missouri for getting the ball rolling on destroying the Big 12 by expressing their (Missouri's) interest in joining the Big 10 when the Big 10 announced they would be looking into expansion

Beautiful.

I saw my wife check out another guy's ass. That means I can fuck a stripper, right?

Nebraska would start Big Ten play in 2011.

If I'm Bill Self, when I win the Big XII basketball tournament this year and am handed the conference trophy by Dan Beebe, I'd shit in it and hand it back.

Oh Chip...
If this is what happens and the PAC 16 is formed I will hate having Notre Dame in the Big Ten. They are not a Big Ten team; I don?t get any feeling from their fans or athletic department that they really want to join. I?d still rather take other teams that would want to come and be a part of the conference and would also be a better fit with the CIC.

EAST:
Connecticut
Indiana
Ohio State
Michigan
Michigan State
Penn State
Purdue
Syracuse

WEST:
Illinois
Iowa
Kansas
Minnesota
Missouri
Nebraska
Northwestern
Wisconsin

Football would be strong but I think we would still be king, basketball would be the best of any conference.

Perlman: Primary reason for the move is the stability of the Big 10 vs. the stability of the Big 12.

Dr. Tom: Primary reason for the move is that our culture is a better fit for the Big 10.

I'm paraphrasing, but that's the gist.

That is the only point on which they are not completely harmonious, and it's nit-picking.

Why, maybe he could get some money out of it by pawning it on "Pawn Stars":

Paraphrasing:

Osborne: Teams that were urging us to stay were talking to three conferences simultaneously at the same time they were urging us to stay.

Pretty clear reference to Texas (Pac 10, Big 10, SEC) it would seem.

Tom Osborne at the podium admitting UNL would be more competitive in the Big Ten because they're not a sun belt state on equal footing with the Big XII South schools in non-revenue outdoor sports. Translation: It's too cold to get good baseball, soccer and track athletes here when they could go to OU or UT.

Declares war for midwest recruits ... like Bo Pelini wasn't in Ohio already.
